Lighten Up Francis
Me, Myself, and I
Since Col Mac`s chance meeting with Stazy sliding down Arthur`s Seat on a bin liner, Frantic Chant have dominated the airwaves in their own houses. O`Hara and Nik came into the fold in similar circumstances, although their journey down Leith Walk did take a little longer.
By the third album, Frantic Chant Ya Bass, the boys had really found their groove, which saved them lots of man hours trawling Edinburgh`s infamous hairy triangle area searching for said groove.
I C Music (I Feel Sound) was an EP that bridged the gap before the soon to be released Lighten Up, Francis was finished. It also smelled of mint.
Lighten Up, Francis will be released on Digital Revolution Records in the very near future and no doubt force the BBC into bringing back Top Of The Pops. But sadly not Simon Bates.
This band have lit up my life since first hearing them and continue to do so.

  • Back on Leith FM

We`ll be back at Leith FM for another interview on the day of the Leith Festival gig which is the 6th of June. You can listen at www.leithfm.co.uk at 2.30pm.
Concessions are available for gig at The Granary so remember your student/unemployed/pensioner id to save a couple of quid.
We were thinking of pulling out of the gig as i have chicken pox but everything should be ok by the 6th, apart from looking like ive stuck my head in a wasps nest that is.

  • Leith Festival, Album Release & Irish gigs

It looks like the album, "Lighten Up, Francis", will be set for release in June and the first gig to promote it will be for the Leith festival.
This is the first proper release we`ve done for the Digital Revolution label and we`re just getting our heads round the fact that the release date has to fit into label schedules. The album has been ready for a while now and we just want it out. We have a 5 album deal and already have the next one almost written so we`re champing at the bit, so to speak.
Some Irish and Scottish dates are being arranged to coincide with the album coming out. A full set of UK dates will follow.
The Leith Festival gig is still being arranged so we don`t know the venue, prices, etc. What we do know is it will probably be on the 5th or 6th June.

    luv Whistlebinkies Stirling

REF: Live gig at the Cape in Stirling:
Either Nick turn yer amp up or stazzy turn yer vocals and rythem doon. Read below the defenition of lead guitar (that's Nick) from Wikipedia:

Lead guitar refers to the use of a guitar to perform melody lines, instrumental fill passages, and guitar solos within a song structure.

It would be nice if the audience could hear these melodic lines and instrumental fill passages.

Sorry lads, just a bit of constructive criticism.
    See ye all soon.
