Your parents already start buying stuff to bring for family in Mauritius
a year before they actually go.
Mauritius family never bring anything truly decent when they come to
England apart from. fris cristalise, piment confi, those twiggy crisps,
vanilla tea, zasaar, aaaaaaaaand of course BOXES OF KRAFT CHEDDAR. Kraft cheddar is the only cheese you eat and there's always a stash of boxes that never seem to finish somewhere in the fridge or a cupboard.

You get really excited when you hear about a Mauritian party somewhere
because it gives you warm sense of identity on the inside but yet go to
check our the opposite sex and hope they're not your cousin.

There's valeez on top of your wardrobe.
You have ribbon tied to your valeez - that's the only way your mum
believes she will recognise them!

Your whole generation comes to see you in the week before you go to
Mauritius.. But only because they want you to take parcels back home
for them "to capaav amen sa pour mo mama!"

You're one of the only Mauritian people on the plane.and have more hand
luggage than everyone else put-together.

The whole of Mauritius comes to pick you up from the Mahebourg airport
upon arrival
The first things uncles and aunties in Mauritius say when they see you
is "gette coumant lin vin graaand" and "qui class to pe faire?"

Mosquitoes suck the living daylights out of your sweet English blood.

wat can i say, i love dis guy but we r too far to have ani relationship. at da begining we were oki we got to knw eachother n have sum laughs n we ended up gettin reali close some how....

i strted goin out wid dis other guy who lives around ma area n dat guy who i reali likes strted goin out wid a gurls from his town but the thing is da way we tlk to eachother is not da same as how i tlkedd to ma boyfriend.

so i said to ma self wat am i guna doo i reali like dis guy soo i broked up wod ma boyfriend n i wanted to know dat guy more well n have dat feelin with him as he have dis connection which is soo cool as i feel so safe n secure weneva i tlk to him....

but we have been chattin more n creatin a bound n likehe broke up wid his gurlfrien n we strted cumin closer...n even we have not met eachother in person we know eachothers mind...

den one day dat boy who i like was complainin about da comment i left on ma ex boyfriend profile n he was like comparin da comments i gave to him with the comment i gave to ma ex sooo i was like reali piss as it was ova nufin ni didn't right anithing badd at the end of the day me n my ex r still friends n da boy who i reali like is jus actil like a baby...x

but den i dun some investigation ma self as da boy i like strted writin so much friendly comments to this new gurl n i was like u hypocorite ...coz how do u think i am suppose to feel wen a person complains n compares wat i wrote to ma ex den he goes off n writes it to another gurl...but i was like sayin to myself dey must be goin out as they r bein extra friendly to each other...x

soo i went to dat boy n said to him soo wen r u goin to tell me u were goin out wid dat gurl he left soo friendly comments....n guess wat he said OH...EM EM HOW DO U KNW..I MEAN I WAS GOIN TO TELL YOU TOMOZ OR DA DAY AFTER....n in a gurls mind wen a boy says dat it means yeah right he wasn't....

n from dat day on i reali dooo miss him..he is like supper close with his new gurlfriend n like he is happy...x

its like i have lost him to a gurl who is always there when eva i want to chat to da boy i like coz i rememba wat he said to me wen he broke up wid his last gurlfriend he said...ISABELLE I LOVE YOU 100% n i was like dat must be a bigg deal cumin for a guy who has a gurlfriend already...x

yeah but then we had a massive fight about how we are not bein honest with eachother ad everything and he started sayin all of these things about ma ex and i was like to ma self why r u obssessed with ma ex..wats up wid him...cummon...x but da fings he was sayin about ma ex reali hurt me coz obviously i still have a lil bit of feelins for sumbdi wen break up n stuff... n its hard to let go...n i dnt want bad fings bein said by pepz ...especially ma ex dnt even know...x

so i culdn't take it ani more and sooo i wrote sum nasty fings back about his new gurlfriend and i knew it was wrong but den da boy who i liked started comparin me wid his new gurlfriend....i was like u know wat...its done n he was like wat u mean..i was like wats done be done... n he was like oh...x

but da fing wat reali anoyed me dat he went cryin out to his gurlfriend n he tld her all da situation bein happenin and i was jus keepin ma distance coz i culdn't take it any more...x

but after a while we strted tlkin again and wen we talk we didn't include da names of ma ex or his new gurlfriend...so it was okii...x
