- Background: I was born in Barnsley on 19th July 1976 to my parents Eunice and Peter Burton, I am an only child.
I am the second youngest in our extended family, my cousin Matthew being the youngest overall, I was also the only girl in our family as all my cousins are boys, so in that respect I was always given a lot of attention.
At age 11 I underwent spinal surgery at the Lord Mayor Treloar hospital in Alton Hampshire on March 1st 1989 and spent 4 weeks in hospital. I was fused from T5 to L1 (Harrington Rod) and T6 to T10
After living in Jersey from age 8 to 14, moved back to the UK.
Did some traveling after leaving school and then finally moved to the Costa del Sol in 1998 where I still live with my husband Chris.
Got married in 2001 at Castillo de Monda, we were the first to ever have a wedding there!

Scoliosis Group
I have had Scoliosis since age 12 and was surgically corrected in 1989 and now "sport" a Harrington rod and a compression rod from T5 to L1.
I have been supporting the Scoliosis community now for 3 years and am happy to speak to Scoliosis sufferers and help where I can.
