Mary's Message
But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"
The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[c] the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
For nothing is impossible with God." "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.
Gabriel was amased. Unlike almost every other human he had ever greeted, Mary was not afraid. Yes, the Almighty God had chosen well. Like the rest of the angels, Gabriel had been almost desperate to meet the young woman who had been chosen to bear the Messiah - God The Son, in human flesh.
"Mary," he whispered, " you have been chosen to bear the Messiah. You will give birth to a son and name him Jesus."
With no hesitation, Mary asked him an amasing question, "Since I am a virgin, please explain to me how this is going to work."
"The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the presence and power of God will provide a covering over you. So the Holy Child who will be born to you will be called the Son of God."
If God can use a young teenage girl from a backwards town to change all of human history, what can he do through you? No matter how impossible your calling is, or how unattainable your destiny may seem, nothing is impossible with God.
When the angel told Mary that the Holy Spirit would come upon her, he was revealing the very secret of her miraculous conception. Without the Holy Spirit's power you, too, will never accomplish your divine purpose. As you submit to his work in your life, he will do miraculous things for you.
The angel also told that Mary that God's presence and power would overshadow, or cover her. In the Bible, "covering" can be associated with authority. You will never experience the full reality of God's work in your life until you have submitted to his authority. The Bible calls this submission by another name: lordship. Sadly, many Christians have created a sad dichotomy between the role of Jesus as Saviour and his role as Lord. Although they fully embrace him as Saviour because they dont want to go to hell, they still have no real desire for his Lordship in their lives. If you, like Mary, want to experience the reality of your destiny, you must accept Christ as Lord.
Choosing Jesus As Lord means choosing Life. Jesus did not teach us that he came simply to save us from hell and then leave us to fend for ourselves until the great Judgement Day. He taught us that he came to give us life, and life more abundantly. Choosing Jesus As Saviour only can give you an assuarance of Heaven. But it can also leave you with an empty, unfullfilled life. Making him Saviour and Lord will lead you into an abundant life. - Peter Furler

Free Falling
Deuteronomy 32:7-12
Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance. In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye, like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions. The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him.
In the tender song of Moses found in Deuteronomy 32, God is portrayed as a dedicated mother eagle who can be trusted by her young, even in the scary experience of learning to fly.
A mother eagle builds a comfortable nest for her young, padding it with feathers from her own breast. But the God-given instinct that builds that secure nest also forces the eaglets out of it before long. Eagles are made to fly, and love will not fail to teach them. Only then will they become what they are meant to be.
So one day the mother eagle will disturb the twigs of the nest, making it an uncomfortable place to stay. Then she will pick up a perplexed eaglet, soar into the sky, and drop it. The little bird will begin to free fall. Where is Mama now? She is not far away. Quickly she will swoop under and catch the fledgling on one strong wing. She will repeat this exercise until each eaglet is capable of flying on its own.
Are you afraid of free falling? Remember God, will fly to your rescue and spread his everlasting arms beneath you. He will also teach you something new and wonderful through it. Falling into God's arms is nothing to be afraid off.
