Free Falling
Deuteronomy 32:7-12
Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when he divided all mankind, he set up boundaries for the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance. In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye, like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions. The LORD alone led him; no foreign god was with him.
In the tender song of Moses found in Deuteronomy 32, God is portrayed as a dedicated mother eagle who can be trusted by her young, even in the scary experience of learning to fly.
A mother eagle builds a comfortable nest for her young, padding it with feathers from her own breast. But the God-given instinct that builds that secure nest also forces the eaglets out of it before long. Eagles are made to fly, and love will not fail to teach them. Only then will they become what they are meant to be.
So one day the mother eagle will disturb the twigs of the nest, making it an uncomfortable place to stay. Then she will pick up a perplexed eaglet, soar into the sky, and drop it. The little bird will begin to free fall. Where is Mama now? She is not far away. Quickly she will swoop under and catch the fledgling on one strong wing. She will repeat this exercise until each eaglet is capable of flying on its own.
Are you afraid of free falling? Remember God, will fly to your rescue and spread his everlasting arms beneath you. He will also teach you something new and wonderful through it. Falling into God's arms is nothing to be afraid off.

Was It Wasted?
Six days before the passover, Jesus arrived at Bethany where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in Jesus' honour...Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume, she poured it on Jesus feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the Perfume. John 12:1-3
"Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me...She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. I tell you the truth, whereever the Gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her." Mark 14:6, 8-9
Lazarus's friends had come to rejoice with him in his new life and to honour Jesus. But while everyone else was celebrating life, deep inside, Jesus knew he was about to face death. Someone else in the room was beginning to sense the same thing: Mary, Martha's sister. Always sensitive to the needs of Jesus, she took a pint of a very expensive perfume and begand to pour it over his feet. Then when she had finished with the perfume, she slowly wiped his feet with her hair.
As the fragrance of her sacrificial worship filled the room, the other guests began to grumble. "Why is she wasting that perfume?" they muttered under their breath. "She could have sold it and given the money to the poor." Even one of the apostles, Judas Iscariot, objected to her sacrifice and rebuked her.
"Leave her alone," Jesus said. After pausing, Jesus said tenderly "Wherever this Gospel is preached, the story of her sacrifice will also be told."
In this story of extravagent worship, there a number of important principles worth noting.
First, it is one thing to see Jesus as your friend but it is an entirely different matter to know him as your Lord. Jesus was surrounded by people who loved him, yet only Mary recognised his impending sacrifice and anointed him in preparation. Her costly gift was an act of worship.
Second, Mary's valuable gift filled the whole room with its fragrance. The more it costs you to worship, the more powerful your worship becomes. Never forget that just one sincere worshiper, like Mary, has the ability to affect the entire atmosphere of a place.
Third, some of the people at the feast accused Mary of wasting the costly perfume; in the same way, there will always be people in your life who will consider your worship and praise a waste of time and energy. These people will affect your spiritual purity and passion if you listen to them.
Remember - it is never a waste to worship God with all your heart. Like Mary's perfume, your worship will be like a fragrance that flows to all those around you. As you touch the heart of your Lord and Friend, he will bring you into a fresh place of fellowship and intimacy with him.

I was round at Mersey Street in December and got one of the Van Morrison mural.
There some Streetreach stuff but it appeared to be a "work in progress"
