ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Over the 2 day workshop the students will be briefed on various aspects of the music and entertainment industry .
How to present yourself in a professional manner, contact labels, agencies, Equity and The Musicians Union.
Building confidence, maximising your vocal and movement abilities.
Work as a team to break down any insecurities you may have when it comes to performing in front of others.
You will learn valuable techniques from highly experienced tutors and mentors.
There will be a question and answer section where the experts will be available to the students to answer many questions about the industry.
Although this workshop holds no guarantees but those students that show talent, attitude and determination have the ability to be ' talent spotted ' by many members of the team which could result in future work beyond the Academy.
Star Factor Academy aims to build a collection of talented individuals where we can then pass these details to music producers, dance agencies, record labels and other sectors within the industry.

STAR FACTOR ACADEMY
SO WHAT IS THE ACADEMY
The Academy is an opportunity for young people aged 16+ to showcase and nurture their talent in a creative and encouranging environment. It aims to introduce future-stars to the entertainment industry; guiding them them through a practical training process, teaching vocal & stage performance, presentation skills, and develop their creative potential by bringing together vocal coaches (David Laudat), dance choreographers (Steve Shane) and industry professionals (Steve Gilmour) closely associated with major acts and television shows to provide a weekend workshop. HOW DOES IT WORK
Two small teams of students will be mentored by either David or Steve and then throughout both days change tutors for maximum experience. David says “We aim to teach techniques, coach repertoire and strengthen confidence of singers of all ages and abilities.” Steve comments “it’s always exciting to see new faces especially when you can help towards their big break into entertainment.”
Artist manager and organiser Steve Gilmour: “Recognising talent is about encouragement and support; that’s why we’re bringing an experienced, recognised team from within the industry. Few people get a chance to work with experts at this level.”
23rd Precinct's Billy Kiltie adds “We are keeping the class sizes small to give students as much individual training as possible. We're constantly asked by labels, music producers and TV companies about available talent and through Star Factor Academy we are hoping to discover and develop the stars of tomorrow.”
