      Joseph Gatehau is best remembered for his role on the 2006 series of Australian Idol where he brought the audience to tears with his soulful style.

      Most notably, his heartfelt rendition of Troy Cassar-Daly’s ‘Ladies In My Life’ and his original composition ‘Pretty Girl’ both struck a chord with the Australian public.

      This month, Joseph will launch his debut single ‘Move On’ from his forthcoming album set for release in 2009.

      The first single off the EP, ‘Move On’ is about love, heartbreak and the pain felt by the betrayal of a loved one.

      Since Idol, Joseph has been busy writing his own music, touring the country with other artists, singing on demos and recording his debut album.

      “The industry needs you as an artist to commit a lot of time, to keep motivated and to keep the notion of never giving up – Idol showed me that very early on,” said Joseph.

      In 2007 Joseph was selected as an Ambassador for World Youth Day 2008. This role has seen him perform at many World Youth Day events as well as International Media Press Conferences.

      Joseph is an ambassador for the RSPCA’s national ‘stop cruelty to animals’ campaign. He’ll be appearing in posters, TVC and a series of CSAs bringing awareness to the link between behavioural problems in youths and cruelty to animals.
