Ja, o mnie i jeszcze raz ja: Lord Darzi has been asked by the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Health to come up with a plan for what the health service should look like in 10 years time.... a challenging task!

He is a surgeon at Imperial College, he's a professor, and also a Government Minister.

He understands that to let as many people as possible have their say, the best way to do it is online, and so is asking Beboers to let him know what we think needs to change.

This consultation started in July and will go on for a year as staff across the country also give their views. We'll be following its progress and would like to start by weloming Lord Darzi onto Bebo..

What do you think the balance should be for the NHS between helping people stay well verses treating

people when they become ill? (currently it is much more focussed on treating people).

What are the most important health issues for the NHS to tackle? E.g. obesity, smoking, alcohol? Why?
What role should the NHS have in tackling these?
What role should others have e.g. individual, government, schools, families, other orgs?
Should the government intervene more in these issues?
Should legislation like the smoking ban be brought in to tackle obesity and alcohol? What could be done?
