(A bit late, but here's the rundown from their Myspace)
It was brilliant. 14 bands played 3 songs each in 5 hours. A mad for it audience of over 300 people danced, moshed and pogoed. Superb attitude from the musicians and a very supportive vibe throughout. I'd do it again but bigger and better next year. Keep watching this page, and see the winners at the Tarbert Music Festival 15/9/07.
The over 18 result was actually a dead tie on audience and judges' combined votes between Another Misadventure and The Open Plan. Drama or what. Judges decided we must have a winner rather than a tie for first so Another Misdaventure took first as they had one more judges' vote than the Open Plan, but it was so close I increased the cash prize, split it and the other prizes between these two bands to reflect musical justice.

Lorn Life Review (Dec. 2007)
Over the past year there have been a number of new bands emerging from the Oban and Lorne area, putting the area's live music scene in as healthy a state as it has been for a number of years.
Bands such as The Waterfalls, The Lemmings and The Sorren MacLean Band all regularly play to good crowds. The Dunstaffanage Music Festival is improving and attracting more punters and the Open Mic Night is becoming more popular - so the future looks bright.
Another Misadventure, winners of the 2007 Ardfern Battle of the Bands amid strong competition, are one of the latest additions to the local music scene. Comprising of Cammy Roxburgh (vocals and guitar), John Forteith (drums) and Rona Wilkie (violin) the Oban band have just released their first recordings under the title This Is, a three song EP with tracks - This Is, We've Got a Name for People Like You and Lady, Please. All tracks are ambient rock tunes with some really nice melodies and good lyrics. One thing that strikes me about this band is Cammy's vocals, which remind me of the legendary Jeff Buckley, who drowned age 27 in the Mississippi. The use of a violin in the music is something that is not very common in the rock band scene but I think it compliments the style of Cammy's vocals; the solos are made by the violin instead of the guitar, which is pretty cool actually. Cammy and John definitely have a good understanding of each other and good chemistry exists between all members of the band.
This Is, the first and title track, seems to pack more of a punch than the other two, a song with a nice foot-taping tempo. Lady, Please is the ballad of the EP, a nice mellow sound while We've Got a Name for People Like You is my stand-out track and probably sums up the sound of the band best. It's worth checking out.
The band has had a busy 2007 and we'll see what 2008 holds in store for them.

Recently i held a charity gig in aid of Amnesty international on Lismore, it was the second time we had done it and it was a great success, we raised about £150 towards Amnesty Int. and £150 toward the lismore public hall funds.
i'm plannig on arranging another Amnesty Bash some time in October and would love for you Guys to Headline it. You would probably be playing with us (Spinnoffs) and No Nightmares. I'm afraid as it is a charity gig we couldn't pay you but you would be guaranteed coverage in the Oban Times and a good night.

Ye no worries man, I don't have much say in it, but I can recommend and hype you up to the venue manager who books the gigs. The bad thing with that is that he manages quite a few of the bands, so he is a little biased on who he books.
