- The CARI Foundation is a registered charity founded in 1989. Our primary aim is to provide a professional, child centred therapy and counselling service to children, families, and groups who have been affected by child sexual abuse.
Alongside this we aim to provide the most up to date education and information service for children, adults and professionals on the dynamics of child sexual abuse, and, moreover, to raise public and political awareness of these issues.

The Saffron Ball - Thomond Park, Limerick in AID of CARI
This year a different ball will be thrown in Thomond Park when Limerick’s most glamorous and elegant annual charity and social event, The Saffron Ball, will be held at the newly built Thomond Park on Saturday 18th October 2008. It will be the first non-rubgy event to be held in the new venue and with over half the available tables already sold, it won’t be long before it is completely sold out!
Guests will be the first at a charity ball in the new Thomond Park enjoying wonderful food, wine, “Most Glamorous Lady” prize, raffle, auction, celebrity MC and celebrity after-dinner speaker.
The Saffron Ball 2008 is in aid of CARI with proceeds going directly towards developing their new child therapy house on the Ennis Road, Limerick and funding their associated services. The evening starts with exquisite canapés and cocktails before a 6-course banquet where each course is prepared by one of Limerick’s leading restaurants including the Mustard Seed, Moll Darbys, Marriott Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Clarion Hotel, Radisson SAS Hotel, the Wild Geese and Adare Manor. This Gourmet Extravaganza’s culinary aspect is co-ordinated by Pat O’Sullivan of the renowned Masterchefs Hospitality and the incredible menu will bring culinary expertise to the fore with the Mid-West’s leading chefs showcasing homegrown Irish produce.
LIMERICKnow magazine will sponsor the “Most Glamorous Lady” prize The prize will be a handcrafted and beautifully designed jewelry piece from Otazu Ireland. The auction, includes a signed pair of boxing gloves donated by Limerick Champion, Andy Lee and a priceless Munster Jersey signed by the current Heineken Cup winners 2008. An extensive raffle with fantastic prizes will take place before our surprise celebrity after-dinner speaker takes to the stage followed by dancing ‘til late to the 16-piece swing band, Brass & Co. Media sponsorship for the event is being kindly provided by Business Limerick, LIMERICKnow and RSVP.

CARI Annual Gala Ball - 18th October 2008
On 18th October 2008 CARI will be hosting its Annual Gala Ball in The Shelbourne Hotel. The Shelbourne is one of Dublin’s finest hotels and we are very proud to host our ball there again this year. Tickets are available from CARI Dublin Fundraising Office and are priced at €250.The CARI Ball is an excellent opportunity to entertain valued clients, family and friends. It will be one of the most exciting nights of the 2008 social season. Previous guests who attended the ball include: Bertie Ahern with his daughters Georgina Byrne and Cecilia Ahern, Yvonne and Ronan Keating, Louis Walsh, Alan Hughes, Laura Bermingham, Mary Coffey, Ian Galvin and Oonagh and William Doyle from Newbridge Silverware.

Gareth David Koch has been missing since the 8th March 2004. He disappeared whilst on a trekking holiday in Nepal with Ian Napier under very suspicious circumstances that have still not been discovered. Gareth is about 5'9 (approx 1.79m) tall and of slight build. He has light brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a nondescript southern English accent.
He may also now have a beard or long hair. We hope that this site will aid us in our search for Gareth and to give information to those going to Nepal. The information on the site may act as a reminder for anyone who may have seen Gareth on their travels.

This Thursday 6th November Wrights Café Bar, Swords will be hosting CARI’s HairRaising Extravaganza, where guests will compete to showcase their own creations and be in with a chance to win a top prize from Hessions Hairdressing. The weirder and wackier the hairstyle the more chance you have to win. The night will treat guests to a wealth of entertainment along with Special Guest DJ Al Gibbs and Keywest who will be showcasing their second single.
Special guest appearance from Lucky Diamond Rich, the most tattooed man in the world, who will be performing some death defying stunts.
Hessions Hair Salon will also be exhibiting some of their own creations along with LA Makeup who will be the experts behind the body art the models will be displaying on the night. Caroline Geraghty and Jon Hanlon are organizing this event as they will be taking part in CARI’s Cuba Challenge on 26th November, were they will trek for 10 days in one of the world’s last bastions of communism. Money raised on the night for CARI will go towards providing therapy services for children who have experienced sexual abuse.
Tickets are priced at just €10 and include one free drink! All are welcome & all proceeds go to CARI.
