- After 279 days in the making, I would like to introduce you to my son, Xavier Torres Wirth. He came in with a fight and not ready to make his appearance, but after a LONG 25 hours of labor and alternative plans, he was forced out (thank god!!!).

The birth of Xavier
Where to start...I'll save everyone time and give you the short version....
On January 22nd, my first contractions started and the timing began. Nathan and I went to the hospital that night thinking it was time, since the contractions were 5 minutes apart, but I was told it was false labor and to take a warm bath and drink plenty of water. The next day was my schedule doctor's appointment and I found out I dilated to 2 cm. Since my blood pressure was high, I was told to get lunch and come back so they can induce labor. I checked in the hospital at 2 pm on January 23rd and at 11 am the next day (21 hours of contractions, which was bearable thanks to two epidural - yes, since everything was going my way (j/k), the first epidural was not put in properly, so it was re done), the pushing began...After 3 hours of the toughest pain it was unsuccessful. The next plan - Vacuum Extraction Delivery - this also did not work (if you look at the photo album "Xavier" you can see a photo of him being cleaned up by the nurses and his conehead, which is thanks to the vacuum suction). Final plan - Cesarean Birth - which was frustrating, since we could have saved Xavier and I all this pain and time if we did this in the beginning!!!!
At the end...it was all worth it!!! I have a beautiful son, who I will love and cherish!!!

Xavier is so big now! I really enjoyed looking at the pix.
I just got back from Mexico, was recovering from a broken ankle but I'm ok now and can walk again I'll be leaving for Europe next week. Will be posting pix
