  • Free Money for Achieve ABA!

Hi Everyone my friend sent me this,
This is a great offer from O2 and the possible revenue that could be raised from this would be of HUGE benefit to the children in my school so please pass this on to anyone you know who is an O2 customer. It won't cost you anything and the school could do really well out of it.

Please see below for more details!

O2 are running a programme where if you text the word AUTISM to 50308 5% of your total monthly bill will be donated to the IAA ( Irish Autism Action).
This offer is open to both prepay and post-pay O2 customers and the message is simple:

Text the key word 'AUTISM' to 50308 and 5% of your O2 monthly spend* will go towards autism services in your community.

However, if our school can register a list of numbers of people who have sent the text then the money raised from these numbers will go directly to Achieve ABA. As we are run by a charity the school relies entirely on fundraising and what we raise from this could save the parents from running one or two extra fundraisers in the coming years, giving them more time to spend with their children!

The texts must be sent and numbers registered by 31st October to avail of this offer.

If you are an O2 customer and send the text as I hope you will can you email me your phone no so that I can pass it on to 02 to ensure the associated monies go directly to Achieve ABA.

I would also be grateful if you could pass this request onto any of your contacts and get them to email me their numbers to my bebo inbox

O2 have informed me that the numbers will not be used for any other purpose.
Since O2 makes this contribution it won't cost you a cent.

To show your support and help make a difference, freetext AUTISM to 50308 and email me your no.

  • The Hollywood Librarian is coming to the IFI March 1st

The Hollywood Librarian: A look at libraries through film
    Synopsis:
ANN SEIDL'S THE HOLLYWOOD LIBRARIAN BLENDS AN ENTERTAINING ARRAY OF CLASSIC AND RARE FILM CLIPS ABOUT LIBRARIANS WITH CONTEMPORARY FOOTAGE AND INTERVIEWS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF LIBRARIES AND THE CHALLENGES FACING LIBRARIANS. American cinema contains hundreds of examples of libraries and librarians on screen. Films such as Sophie's Choice, Philadelphia and It's a Wonderful Life show librarians as negative stereotypes. On the other hand, the librarians in Lorenzo's Oil, Desk Set and The Shawshank Redemption are competent and professional. In the film, dozens of interviews with real librarians are interwoven with clips of movie librarians as Seidl explores issues of censorship, intellectual freedom, funding and the value of reading. The real and fictional elements come together to telling effect in the film's interview with the late Peg Perry, a gravel-voiced librarian who happened to be the sister of Katherine Hepburn, star of the classic librarian movie Desk Set, which receives due recognition in Seidl's charming blend of humour and critical analysis.
    Running Time: 94 minutes
