- UCC Tradsoc is a society which aims to promote Irish Traditional music on campus and Cork city.
Tradsoc host a session in An Spailpín Fánach every Monday night at half nine. Apart from ceilis, concerts, and sessions, next year we're starting tune swapping sessions, beginner sessions and much much more!

TRADFEST 2010 IS HERE!!
Trad Fest is an annual festival run by Trad Soc, it takes place during the month of February every year. This year the festival will run from Monday 1st February to Friday 5th Febraury. MORE INFO AT OUR WEBSITE WWW.UCCTRADSOC.COM
Here is a brief outline of what to expect at our Trad Fest:
Monday-Kick off Session in the Spailpin Fanac at 9.30pm
Tuesday-6 pm onwards Party Session in the Seomra Caidreamh, in place of the usual Tune swap, followed by a ceilí upstairs in the Spailpin Fanac at 9.30pm
Wednesday-lunchtime concert with Holly Geraghtyon concertina, Jonathan Rocheon button accordion and Matt Griffin on Guitar. This concert will take place in the Seomra Caidreamh, ground floor of the O'Rahilly building at 1-2pm. Admission is Free!
In the evening, we're upstairs in the Spailpin Fanac for a concert with Blackie O'Connellon Uilleann Pipes, Karol Lynchon Banjo and Cyril O'Donoghueon Bazouki. The gig starts at 9.30. Admission is 5 euro at door
Thursday- 8pm variety concert Ó'Riada Hall, in the Music Building on Sundays Well. Admission is Free, and everyone is welcome. The concert will be followed by a trad session in the Avenue Bar, Sundays Well Road.
Friday- Iarla O'Lionardand Steve Cooneyperform in the Aula Maxima, UCC at 1-2pm for the Friday lunchtime concert. Admission is free, get there early to get a seat.
We're back in the Ó'Riada Hall in the Music Building on Sundays Well at 5pm, for the annual Ó'Riada Lecture. This year the lecture is given by Séamus de Barraentitled "Re-visioning tradition: Aloys Fleischmann and the making of modern Irish music"
Theevening entertainment is being held in the Pavilion, just off Patricks Street on Carey's Lane in Cork's Huguenot Quarter. Doors open at 8.30pm and feature Caladh Nuaas support for Danú followed by a trad disco.Tickets for the friday night concert are 15 euro with a student card, 20 euro without. Tickets will be sold in the Pavilion Bar, and at all Tradsoc events.

Weekly Update!
Hi All,
There are still some tickets left for the Trad Mystery tour. Bus leaves Castlewhite appartments at 7.15pm Wednesday 4th November to a mystery location.
It should be a great night. We'll be selling tickets at the Spailpin session next monday night from 9.30pm, at the Tune Swap session next Tuesday night from 6pm-7pm and again at the Seorma Caidreamh lunchtime concert next Wedesday 4th at 1pm.
Mick Daly and Aodan Coffey feature in the Seomra Caidreamh next week.
We'll be starting our Beginner Sessions Thursday 5th November, from 6-7.30pm in the Seomra Caidreamh ORB. So all beginners out there please come along. Everyone who played an instrument and are getting back into playing again are welcome too!
If anybody wants a zippee ( hoodie with zip), we'll be taking names and money (30Euro) at all tradsoc events until 6th November.0 Comments 14 weeks

2008, Young Musicwide Award winners, Fidil's music making is marked by an intricate and intelligent approach that still manages to maintain the element of fiery exhuberance that is the hallmark of traditional fiddle music from Donegal.
