- Ceann an Tuirc are possibly THE hottest thing to hit the Mod scene...ever! A collection of Argyll's most attractive male singers, this group of likely lads has been wooing audiences far and wide since their creation in 2002. Consisting of members from throughout God's own area of Argyll, they meet on a monthly basis to get the craic, sing songs and prepare for the whisky Olympics that is The Royal National Mod.
Orginally they were kept in line by the fabulous [and also now yummy mummy] Lisa Schroder but for the last three years they've been under the direction of local slave to the Gaelic cause, Joy Dunlop. Joy endeavours to keep these vocalists under control to the best of her ability and revels in her role as conductor of the most attractive male voice Gaelic choir in history. She is always on the lookout for new members to add her harem so if you are handsome, from or living in Argyll and vocally blessed Joy wants to hear from you!

Pan Celtic Festival 2009
The choir was represented at this year's Pan Celtic Festival in Donegal by conductor Joy Dunlop, secretary Audrey Paterson and choir members Neil MacDonald and Davy Paterson.
Joy conducted a hurriedly-organised Scottish male voice choir comprising Neil and Davy plus singers from Melvich and Lochs gaelic choirs. The choir gained an impressive second place in the male voice competition against strong opposition from Wales and Ireland.
Joy, Audrey, Neil and Davy successfully participated in other choral competitions during the festival and thoroughly enjoyed Donegal.0 commenti 226 giorni

National Mod 2008
Didn't we do well..........winners of the Mull and Iona Shield, the Hector Russell Dirk and the Cor Meibion Bro Glyndwr Trophy at this year's National Mod in Falkirk.
Well done especially to our conductor Joy Dunlop for all her hard work.

Successful outings at the Mull Mod and Lochgilphead Mod followed by a great workshop with Mary Ann last Sunday. Everything beginning to come together.....although we don't want to peak too soon !
Well done everyone for doing so well at yesterday's Oban Mod....not bad after just six practices and a ceilidh !
The choir received a fantastic reception at the Carradale ceilidh last Friday. Both new songs sounded not bad for a first attempt.
