About Me

Tagline
The Pacific is a universe, not a simple ocean.
Me, Myself, and I
Like a glacier I take refuge in a ocean that seems to vast for me. Thus, I break off into smaller pieces, each holding on to their own individualistic identities, only to someday vanish entirely. But hopefully before then I will be able to leave some kind of mark upon this world. In the long run though, it does not matter how old people are they will still be immature, competitive, and out of focus. In many ways, age does not prolong wisdom nor will it sustain maturity. It simply continues on till you have reached your understanding of the lessons that are being shown to you through your eyes and through what you are experienc'g.
Music
Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Raul Midon, Damien Rice, Nizlopi, Third Eye Blind, Shawn Mullins, Matt Costa, Lifehouse, Paolo Nutini, Rob Thomas, Sudden Rush, Slightly Stoopid, Three Plus, Fiji, Dave Matthews Band, Dido, Gavin DeGraw, Alanis Morissette, Andy McKee, 3 Doors Down, Corinne Bailey Rae, Tracy Chapman, Maria Mena, Sugar Ray, Benny Mao, KT Turnstall, Paul Wright, Adeaze...
My Motto
"If you want something, then go get it. If you want to do something, then go get it done."
Sports
Love all my sports! Esp. American Football and Basketball! USA bias, lol.
Happiest When
With family and friends of course.
About Me
"I'm a man with a plan" lol. Or so the saying goes. I'm 6'0'', around 187lbs or so. Love to play sports, listen to music, play my guitar, work on projects, thats about it. I'm pretty easy-going, lay'd back kinda dude, lol. So yeah, if you looking for the "Hyphy-Go Dumb-Azz Shakin'-Loud-Obnoxious...etc.etc.) kind of guy, I guess your in the wrong place, LMAO! Anyways, if you think I seem like a 'Kewl enough person, then feel free to hit me up and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. ( <<< I sound like an answering machine there, lol).

You want a dog that is willing to go for an occasional jog, but one that will stay inside on cold days and enjoy keeping you warm while you read or do home work. You want to feel safe, but you don't want a dog that's going to tear your house apart while your gone either! Some breeds are Great Danes, St. Bernards, and Irish Wolf Hounds.

  • THE CORRECT WAY OF EATING FRUITS

THE CORRECT WAY OF EATING FRUITS

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it,and just popping it into our mouths. It's not so easy as you think. It's important to know how, and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?
    * IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss, and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.
Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so. In the meantime the whole meal rots, and ferments, and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food > in the stomach, and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins > to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat water-melon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat bananas, I feel like running to the toilet etc - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach.
The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food, and produces gas, and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty
    stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits like orange, and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did a research on this
    matter.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness, and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT From the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat Cooked fruits, because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must Let it mix with your
    saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits, and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

    KIWI: Tiny but mighty.
This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, Vitamin E
& fiber. Its Vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away?
Although an apple has a low Vitamin C content, it has
antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of Vitamin C
    thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & ;
    stroke.

    STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit.
Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits
& protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessels-clogging free
    radicals.

    ORANGE : Sweetest medicine.
Taking 2 -4 oranges a day may help keep colds
away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as
lessens the risk of colon cancer.

    WATERMELON: Coolest
Thirst Quencher Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant > dose of glutathione, which helps boost

nutrients found in watermelon are Vitamin C &
    Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for Vitamin C.
They are the clear winners for their high Vitamin C content.
Guava is also > rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in > carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after meal = Cancer!
    Can you believe this??

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the co

  • Jodatoa Blog #1

    May 17, 2008

Well as you can see what my boredom has led me to. For those who even have the slightest interest as to read this, I appreciate it much. Although, I forwarn you, that I'm not the most talented of writers or "bloggers" if you would say so. So if I do stumble upon sentences that make no sense whatsoever, then please bear with me, lol. As this will be the 1st of hopefully many blogs that I do. Where I'll probably talk about the boring life of Jodatoa. LOL! Nah, its not too bad. I enjoy my life, as I hope many of you wherever you are reading this, do too. Sure, my lil 2yr old sister drives me crazy sometimes, and my other 2 sisters in High School can be major pains, but thats what Advil was made for ... right? lol. Aside from that, life couldn't be any better for me. Well, actually it could, but I'm just tryin' to keep things on an even-keel for you guys. I don't want anyone getting headaches from the complexities of Jodatoa and his adventures in life. Shux, I dont know sometimes, I can go on and on about stuff that really would bore some of you. On another note, it was a another nice, and beautiful hot day in may here. The weather peeking around the high 80's, lower 90's. Wish I could of gone swimming somewhere, but you know how it is, if you cant get it free, scratch that idea of the list of things to do. lol. But it was a good day nonetheless, took my sisters to the mall, they did their girl shopping things they do, while I wait outside like some kind of bachular waiting to carry their bags, and drive em' to their next destination. Then come on home have to babysit my 2yr old lil' sister, while my mom goes play Bingo "again" , and my pops at work , which I should be doing at the moment too, lol. Yea, it was a good day indeed. Hopefully tommorow will be just as good.

Wole Soyinka, Ake The Years of Childhood
    Assimilation

The African way of life has changed through western colonialism, although it was not forced upon them, they merely assimilated. In the autobiography Ake by Wole Soyinka, Soyinka dwells into a time where as a child is caught between two very different worlds; the western way of life and the African way of life. It is because of this dilemma that Soyinka finds himself in as a child growing up in Ake, but he doesn't negate the western ideals being woven into his society. Western colonialism is overwhelming in Soyinka's life, that he finds himself assimilating towards western society and way of living rather than his own native African culture.

In the African society, it is music that keeps everything together from spiritual dance ceremonies, to telling folklores, but mostly in church songs. Like, when Soyinka noticed that the song he was singing in church, "was [an] unusual song too, since the main song was in English but the chorus was sung in Yoruba" (22). This goes to show that the English language has been injected into African society through western colonialism, but most likely through white church missionaries. By integrating their culture or in this case the English language, into church songs that were predominantly mostly if not all in Yoruba, they are able to force their society onto the Africans and thus force them to assimilate. So, Soyinka finds himself noticing this, but also how the teachers had this "indulgent" smile on their faces, which in my opinion is they found it gratifying to see these kids alongside Soyinka, singing and praising their church songs in a march-like pattern. Soyinka notices this but is benign towards this, and just takes this as the norm. Since he is too young to really take into affect the bigger picture of western colonialism onto his church, he is simply just able to notice that there is something "weird" about this picture. With the English language and his native language entwined in church songs, the "main song" too. Assimilation in this case is not optional for Soyinka, but is rather skewed into his life, and hence he is forced upon this change.

Even native customs become an issue in Soyinka's childhood experience that he notices a change from the norm in his African way of life. For instance, wild christian was making some food that Soyinka found unappealing, "medicine and food led separate lives and should never be mixed up" (39). This goes to show you that Soyinka has his African customs to live up to, but from western colonialism bringing this new type of cultivating of foods into his society, Soyinka finds this unattractive. But in the end he is merely a pawn and forced to assimilate and adjust to this new custom woven into his society. Since wild christian has taken this new custom into her society, Soyinka should also take this in easily to, you would think. However, Soyinka has a mind of his own, and he is keen enough to notice these things, but not old enough yet to know the full affect of these new-found customs in their society. So, simply put Soyinka had to adapt the fact that although he may not like the concept of medicine and food together, he has to accept.

Even technology comes into view during Soyinka's childhood and has not only an affect on him but also his father. For example, a box came that was different than a gramophone in that "at certain set hours, the box delivered The News, The News soon became an object of warship to Essay and a number of his friends" (108) . This new instrument in a way had a major impact on not only Soyinka's way of life, but his father Essay's life too. This was like another new custom added into the African society, of listening to the news at certain periods in the day. This box was unlike anything that Soyinka had seen before besides the gramophone, but was exposed to at such a young age, that he took this as fascinatin
