- The History Society disbanded at the end of the 2007-08 session after those of us who resurrected it two years previously graduated. There have been sporadic enquiries to restart it, but so far nothing solid. If you're interested in getting involved in a new incarnation of the society I would recommend speaking to the History dept at uni. I enjoyed my time as first Treasurer and then President, and I would like to think the rest of the committee did too. It's definitely a good thing for a group of friends to be involved in.
Cheers,
Craig

End of Year Ball this Saturday - last chance for tickets
Dear all,
There's still a few ball tickets left so if you're yet to buy one for the meal, or even just the ceilidh, there's one more chance. Come along to the first floor of the history dept this Wednesday (30 April) between 2 and 3pm and there'll be someone there flogging tickets for £25, as well as society branded clothing. Get your friends together and come along for the meal, or if funds are particularly low, the ceilidh only costs £7.50. It promises to be a good night, and the more people that attend, the better it'll be.
Can't make 2-3 on Wednesday? Email history.society@gmail.com and we'll sort something else out.
The End of Year Ball - Saturday 3 May - Copthorne Hotel - 7 for 7.30 start - smart dress. 3 course meal followed by ceilidh with the Broad Bay Ceilidh Band. Organised in conjunction with the Philosophy and Medical Sciences societies. The ceilidh should begin around 9pm.0 commenti 599 giorni

End of Year Ball / Clothing / Torcher Parade
End of Year Ball tickets are going on sale next week. They're £25 each and that includes a three course meal followed by a ceilidh with the Broad Bay Ceilidh Band. The ball is has been organised in conjunction with the Philosophy and Medical Sciences societies and we hope to have well over a hundred people there. It's being held at the Copthorne Hotel on Saturday 3 May and begins at 7.30pm. Dress is smart (kilts, tuxes, dresses etc).
Tickets are available from the first floor social area of the Crombie Annexe building between 1 and 2pm every day next week (21-25 April). The menu will be on show so you can select your meal option. A limited number of tickets for just the ceilidh are also available at £7.50 each.
---------------
The clothing order that was placed before Easter is now in so if you're waiting for an item please come along and collect it when we're selling ball tickets next week. The earlier in the week the better so they don't have to be lugged around by committee members too much! We'll also be taking requests for one final order before the end of the term. See the price list below and order next week.
---------------
The Torcher Parade is happening on Saturday 26 April and the society has booked a float with the theme, Monty Python's The Life of Brian. We need volunteers to help build it on the day and dress up in the evening for the parade. The more people the better. We had a great time last year and even ended up in the paper with our Bill & Ted's Historical Adventure float. Please contact Alasdair at u04ajp4@abdn.ac.uk if you're interested.
---------------
It's coming towards the end of the year and we need to be thinking about a new committee for next year. Most of the current committee are 4th years so we'll be moving on soon. It's a great chance to meet people and have a laugh, not to mention the fact it looks good on the CV. There'll be an email about a meeting soon (it'll probably be after the ball), so see future emails.

Hiya,
We've set a site up for people looking for flat/room shares. It's still getting started off at the moment, but if you would like to add it to your groups for future reference we would really appreciate your support.
This was mainly set up for young people going to college/uni or just starting out at work.
Thanks for reading and the URL is http://www.bebo.com/Flatshare-flatmate
Happy Christmas
Hey Kier. I imagine it'll be quite late on - probably nearer 12. Don't reckon there'll be anywhere else involved before a club. I'm not totally sure though - there's no real plan for the evening.
I say! What a wonderful page- why cant Art History have one? Have some love on a wonderous job, younglings!

Scott: You'd be wrong, sir. Whilst we've sold lots of hoodies with the logo, it has been considered by the committee of this year and last year that it wasn't great and we could do with another one. That said, none of us have any better ideas, which is why we threw it out there. I assume you designed it?
Alasdair: Haha, no.
''Also, if anyone cares enough to design us a new logo that'd be cool. The last one was a bit rubbish.''
Dear president,
You're the only one that seems to think this, as you've (and we've ) sold lots of hoodies over the last 3 years.
If you feel the need to change, go for it, just don't poo on other people's efforts.
kind regards,
Liking the pictures!
