- OneWay formed several years ago, containing three members (Max Knight, Oli Revill and Ryan Weightman). After no success due to the lack of band members, they decided to bring in a fourth, (Jack Royle). With this addition they changed their name to The Cherries. After several gigs Jack decided to move on from the band, and Max, Oli and Ryan felt it was time to leave behind The Cherries, so they reformed in early 2004 as The Aviators.
By late 2004 The Aviators had grown to include 5 members, adding Rafe Thomas on drums and Tom Maylor on guitar. Max then took vocals, Oli took bass and Ryan took lead guitar. After a very successful year of gigs and recording, the band came to a halt in progression. Max decided to attack a more mainstream and popular indy style of songwriting. Ryan was therefore replaced by Dan Mothers.
