What's happening in class just now???

Currently, we are working hard for upcoming competitions.
We are available for displays for St Patrick's Day events, dance festivals, charity events, weddings and other social events ( any queries please contact Margo or pm on bebo)

Feel free to leave a message or add us as a Bebo friend. xxx
What type of dancers do we have?
Our dance students vary in age, the youngest ever being 3 years old, and eldest currently is....over 40!!! We have started an adult class for the Clydebank area, where girls and guys who maybe used to dance, who enjoy a ceili but are unsure of the steps, or who would like to get a bit of exercise while having fun with their friends, can come along and enjoy the class! In the past, the Carr Deane Adult Ceili teams have won Scottish championships in Motherwell 2 years in a row, so for those who wish to compete, the opportunity is there to be taken!!! If anyone is interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch :D
Beginner & Primary classes
1pm Sundays

6pm Wednesdays

This class is for kids who have never danced before. In this class, you will learn the basic 4 light dances, 2 heavy dances and some ceili dances. There are lots of competitions for beginning dancers to compete in and progress to the next level.
Open & Intermediate classes
2pm Sundays

6.30pm Wednesdays

These classes are suitable for kids who have danced before and know advanced steps. Here, we train you for competing at the highest level- open championships, regional, national and world.
Also, we learn ceili dances in this class and if numbers allow, figure teams for the world championships.
In the past, Siobhan & Roisin enjoyed lots of success @ the Worlds being team members of ceili and figure teams in the McLaughlin School. It is difficult but loads of fun!
Adult class
3pm Sundays

7pm Wednesdays

The adult fitness class started in January 2009 after parent requests that they wanted to learn some dancing, or start again from their childhood. Ceili and solo dancing is available aswell as exercises and cardio workouts for those keep fit fanatics out there!!! (everything is tailored to the individuals attending each class so you will not be pushed outwith your comfort zone!!!)

  • Why join us :)

We have had many successes since starting up in 2000. Lots of trophies and medals have came out of lots of practise and dedication in class. Also, we are climbing up the grades to championship level, with our first cup winner last year (well done Cara :D )
We are now aiming bigger and better!!!

We also do lots of fundraising throughout the year, including raffles, bag packing, fundraising party nights and our "in class lottery", which all help with the cost of equipment, as we know this can be quite an expensive hobby!

The Carr Deane school is seen not only as a dance class, but as a place where kids can make friends, exercise and feel supported by the other members of class. We are unique in that we do not put any pressure on pupils to compete. Many are at classes for the enjoyment and to take part in displays and fundraisers.

The parents also join in on this important aspect of the school. Social events are a big part of our dancing lives, and we try to not dwell on the kids competing and winning, but on taking part.
