"Hands On Music, Hearts In Music, Love YOUR SOUND"

From introducing recordings to performing with vinyl to producing records, the Disc Jockey has been with us in various guises for over 100 years. During this perod the DJ has been hugely influential in how music has been written, produced and sold. The DJ's needs have led to the creation of new types of music,(Reggae,) and pushed other genresinto the public domain through the DJ's presence in Radio.(Rock 'N' Roll and Hip Hop.)

The DJ's unquenchable thirst to incorporate new technologies into music gave birth to Disco, House, Techno and Drum 'N' Bass. It is safe to say the DJ is here to stay and therefore time to ask WHATS THIS ALL ABOUT THEN???

Now's the time to find out. Our courses will introduce you to everything from Set Ups to Scratching, Beatmatching to Blending Beats, How To Listen and Love your music.Wether you want to spin for the fun of it, mobilise your Disco, or turn your hobby into your job, no dial will be left unturned as we bOUNCIN2 dJing!!

  • Music for The Open Minded- bOUNCE, Dublin

    Love Music Hate Racism
    Launch
    Music for The Open Minded
With Elbow Room, bOUNCE and Homespun DJs
A Night of Afrobeat, Latin, Dancehall, Jazz, Soul and Funk
Featuring Brother Luke, KwaME + Chuck.
    Friday 17th April 2009
    Le Cirk Dame Street Dublin
    Doors 9.30pm FREE

Love Music Hate Racism is an organisation run by a group of people looking to celebrate cool diverse styles of music through gigs and club nights while at the same time promoting racial harmony. We are about using the positive energy of music to combat the scourge of racism and hate crime in Ireland, both North and South.

We live in a New Ireland where there is a growing multicultural society. The ethnic profile of many communities and workplaces is changing and diversifying. In 2006 approximately 10% of Irelands population of 4.2 million was made up of immigrants from all over the world; Eastern Europe. Africa, Latin America and with them they bring more culture, more music, more food and more languages. We can only benefit from this in the same way that other countries benefited from migrants from this country in years gone by.

Discrimination, racism, the intolerance of others is borne out of ignorance. Be it in the workplace, the school, or at home, and the key to a successful, fair and open society is a willingness to learn and communicate with others. Love Music Hate Racism is opposed to attacks on immigrants, migrant workers or asylum seekers in whatever forms those attacks come. We believe there is room for everybody here and we also believe that music is a form of communication, and just like the human race it is diverse and interesting, and it can be used to break down barriers.

There are many Love Music hate Racism voluntary groups set up all over the country, with people organising gigs and events all the time.
We are not tied to any one particular genre, and so to kick things off in Dublin we have drafted in three of the most clued up, red hot DJs from around the country, with a mixed bag of music in tow.

The music will swing from Afrobeat to Dancehall, from Latin to Jazz, and from Soul to Funk, the DJs will mix and match, fuse and connect the dots.
    They are
    Brother Luke – (Elbow Room)
    KwaME (BOUNCE)
    Chuck (Homespun)
All you got do to be a part of this positivity is turn up, and this very special launch night is absolutely FREE.
We just want you to party, and you will if these DJs have anything to do with it.

WE DON'T JOKE WHEN SAYING WE HAVE AVALANCHES OF SOUL FOR THE LAST ST COLUMBS HALL bOUNCE, THIS MONDAY 22ND DECEMBER!! (Doors 10pm and if our 2008 parties are anything to go by, ROADBLOCK IS EXPECTED SO PLEASE GET YOUR FULL NAMES TO kwame@bouncindj.com quicker than a Bernard Matthews Turkey in December!!) No venue is better suited to this vibe and sound so we reckon you need to experience this ONE LAST TIME WITH FEELING!!

Soul Selectors with the real XMAS FACTOR are manVSwife from London (Reclaiming The Soul, Hands On Family,) Beatnik Soul and The Scooter Club, teaming up with bOUNCE regulars Alan Williams, Leroy and KwaMe. Our mission, to vibe up your Soul before you fill it with Turkey, Ham, Stuffing, Brussels and a touch of Cranberry Sauce if you have a similar palette!!

So, we'll keep the biogs simple..with 69 years of experience, the bonding of Souls began these like minded people began with a similar background of devoted raving and record buying. Raised on their parents tunes, wowed by the talents of Jazz dancers and championing the undiscovered Soul, Funk, nuggets of the 70's to present day Bassie,Broken, Boogiefull gems They continue to organise, host, and spin at festivals, clubs, bars, kitchens and gardens in London with a new weekly residency on Oxford Street. Gaining plaudits from the likes of Bassment Jaxx and Gilles Peterson, their standards haven't gone unnnoticed!! (www.myspace.com/manvswife and www.myspace.com/reclaimingthesoul)

The Scooter Club has been well representd by Doe Morano on past Soul excursions so we thought we'd switch it up a bit by inviting another member of the Scootered Fraternity, John SKAtter O'Hara to join our shakedown. It'll be a proper Belts and Braces affair with this man, laying down Northern Soul Treats to footstomping Ska...be warned!!

Its easy for a Christmas gathering to turn into 'another office party' with enough cheese to send Dairylea shares rocketting!! Beatnik Soul are our guardian angels of Gritty Soul This outlaw klubnite hosted in various venues in the north west of Ireland has one aim, is to showcase the best of the outsiders...the artists and bands that are that little bit too wild or "different" for modern popular tastes. They also Dee Jay a bit too and spin everything from rockabilly, surf, soul, R&B, Broken Blues, and other styles of trashy, primitive rock'n'roll. So if you hate fads and trends and love timeless music that kicks ass and has integrity, please join us for a drink, a bit of craic and some great tunes. ( www.myspace.com/beatniksoul )
bOUNCE spinners Alan Williams, Leroy and KwaMe will make it all fit with lashings of Classic and Rare Soul, spoonfuls SoulSoulful Boogie, House and Broken Beat with a dessert of some SweetSweetBadass Funk for the brain...care to join us?? (www.myspace.com/bounceinsandinos)
