- Blackbud is Joe Taylor (guitar and vox), Adam Newton (bass) and Sam Nadel (drums). They came together as Blackbud in December 2002 and discovered a shared appreciation for such groundbreaking artists as Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the Buckleys and Radiohead. Since then Blackbud's performances, both here and abroad, have helped establish them as one of the UK's most exciting new bands.
2004 saw capacity crowds at two breakthrough performances at Glastonbury festival on both the Avalon and New Stages and the band signed to the UK's major independent label, Independiente, whose roster includes Travis and Embrace. Touring and festivals are planned throughout the coming year including international dates.

Blackbud album 2 progress ....
Hi Everyone,
Its good to be back writing a few words for you after such a long time 'in hiding'. After several years of pretty intense gigging its been a bit weird to be off the road but good to get focussed on the next album. We've had a few sessions writing in a cottage in the middle of nowhere and in downtown Bristol and some interesting stuff is taking shape ..
We've also been demoing some new tracks with producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, The Zutons) as well as generally drinking too much and getting just a little bit of cabin fever There's been a fair bit of experimenting as well, including Joe re-visiting the trumpet, Adam learning the keyboard and Sam discovering one armed drumming after he was struck down with tendonitis.
After we got tired of the calm of countryside (the beards, the cider) we ended up recording in Adam's flat in Bristol for a week, mainly on his roof. We recorded a rooftop video of new songs "Meet you Here" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWlWB... and "Travelling Home" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BW9Z... and a cover of a classic Beefheart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff8EN... song. We also managed to get along to some open mic nights in the city to try some of the new songs out so we'll keep you updated when and where we do anymore of these.
The myspace page has been updated with some new tracks as well as some previously unreleased recordings... the tracks are ; -
"Now's the Time" (from our sessions in Olympic studios for the Heartbeat EP)
"Look into the Darkness" (a new demo, recorded at Moor House with Mike Crossey)
and
"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" (recorded for Classic Rock magazine and used on their cover CD)
check them out...!!! http://www.myspace.com/blackbud
So, so far so good as we continue the slow process of writing a whole new batch of songs for album number 2 (release date pencilled in for January 202
and luckily, or unluckily depending on which one you watch, we've been documenting some of this for you all on YouTube... http://www.youtube.com/profile_favor...
Still more writing, recording, learning new instruments and trying new ciders to happen but we'll keep you posted with anything new including eventually getting back on the road to do some more shows!
Take Care
