Put June 24 in your diaries now Apple fans. The new iPhone is coming in just three weeks time.

Unveiled tonight by Apple boss Steve Jobs, the iPhone 4 is the thinnest ever, a massive 25 per cent slimmer than the iPhone 3GS at only 9.3mm.

Running the new iOS4 it features tons of improvements on the last handset.

Finally there's a LED flash for the camera which goes up to five megapixels. You also get a camera on the front too for video-calling through an app called FaceTime.

Annoyingly, it only works via Wi-Fi and not over 3G and you can only chat on film with other iPhone 4 owners. But the way this device looks, you won't be short of people to speak to face-to-face.

It has a stainless steel band around the phone which contains the antenna and it looks beautiful.

The rear camera also records in HD and there will be an iMovie app to edit footage wherever you go.

A second microphone has also been added to cut background noise and the screen could not be clearer. There are four times as many pixels as the 3GS, with 80 per cent of the total in the iPad's 10 inch display crammed into the 3.5 inch screen here.

There's also iBooks, multi-tasking, a gyroscope, and oh, iAds built into apps so developers can make more money from their work.

There's no proper UK pricing yet but O2 have announced they will be selling it along with special upgrade deals for existing customers. Carphone Warehouse is also already taking pre-orders.

One major thing missing though was an increase in storage with Apple sticking to 16GB and 32GB models.
