Happy Spring Time!
The countdown is on for Battlefront 2, with the launch day looming things are starting to hot up and it’s spring time!
Oh yes it’s finally here, Spring! - Lambs, chicks, rain, and campaigns. It’s just what we all need to get the new year going, and while we search with great haste for new campaigners, our campaigners from season 1 are still out there-making waves!
Check out the headline from the front page of the THE TIMES last week, ‘Leading Doctors Calls for Ban on Smoking in Cars!’ This is great news for Zander’s ‘You Smoke I Choke’ campaign. Zander has just been traveling in Australia, where smoking in cars is already banned when traveling with kids. He has been learning how it’s done and will be doing a talk for the charity ASH when he is back in the country! Pretty good eh!? http://battlefront.co.uk/campaign/yo...
What else? Well, James Greenhalgh (Down with tuition fees campaigner) is only working for Ed Balls the minister of education! He is in demand from leading international Charities to represent the British arm whilst studying politics at Leeds… so understandably his campaign is now being championed by younger members of the youth parliament-check it! http://battlefront.co.uk/campaign/do...
Al Henderson, who is still giving talks on Anti cyber bullying http://battlefront.co.uk/campaign/an... also deserves a shout for his new campaign that is raising money to send people out to Africa to help build schools. It seems once you’ve got the campaigning buzz you can’t stop!

ZUHAL OK, BAGHDAD NOT SO
Despite all the other good Christmas stuff going on this week’s best news definitely comes from Zuhal. We can now confirm that our very own Iraqi wonder was out of the country when the multiple bomb attacks hit Baghdad last Tuesday.
Zuhal is currently gracing none other than Glasgow with her classical skills. Which is great – but she expressed a massive sadness for what’s been happening in her own city. Baghdad seems to be getting increasingly unstable with some aggressors seemingly determined to wreckl the democratic party in advance of the 2010 elections.
Unfortunately, as Zuhal herself tells us: “My school in Baghdad was destroyed and so is the rehearsal hall of the Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra. Minor injuries were reported but fortunately no deaths.”
Events like this only go to prove how crucial campaigns like Zuhal’s are. So keep on trooping through the Christmas period all you Battlefronters…

HOLLY GETS A CHRISTMAS TWEET AT DOWNING STREET
It’s been a mighty festive period for the Battlefront crew. But all the laughs, good time and wintery cheer hasn’t derailed the good old campaigning. Oh, no, siree. Just ask our Holly Shaw who’s been busy spreading Christmas cheer inside 10 Downing Street.
Invited to tea by Mrs. Prime Minister, Sarah Brown, Holly got to hobnob with the great and the good from Twitter. Always up with the social media types Mrs. Brown invited all the people she follows to attend the ‘Downing Tweet Christmas Party’. Attending with her mentor-mate Oli Barrett, Holly said she loved it – especially meeting comedian Peter Serafinowicz. Go check his stuff on youtube. Though, of course the real highlight was Gordon himself popping in for a cuppa.
And as if meeting the Downing Street locals wasn’t enough. Holly also won, yes, WON, the Vinspired Awards. This practically makes her the best young campaigner in Britain at the minute.
As always Holly is humble as hell, saying she was, “dead shocked to win”. But we know how talented she is and how much she deserves all the accolades she’s receiving.
