Just Havin' A Laugh..
Just Havin’ A Laugh Some of the biggest names in Irish comedy will team up for the FM104 Help a Dublin Child "Just Havin' a Laugh!" Gig which will take place on Saturday 17th May 2008 in Vicar Street. Tickets are €26 on sale now through Ticketmaster and other usual outlets nationwide. Booking Line: 0818 719 390. http://www.aikenpromotions.com/ The initial line up for the gig consists of The Panel presenter; Colin Murphy, Limerick born and bred man; Karl Spain, Naked Camera traffic warden Maeve Higgins and top female comic Deirdre O'Kane. In addition to the big names, FM104 will be showcasing some of the rising names in Irish comedy; one to watch, Jarlath Regan, John Lynn and Eric Lalor, who toured with Des Bishop. The Comedy gig is in aid of Temple Street Children's University Hospital and aims to raise more funds to add to the €60,000 recently raised at the FM104 Help a Dublin Child Gig which took place in the Olympia on April 6th. Surprise guests will be announced in the coming weeks and all artists are performing for free on the night. Following on from the phenomenal success of the FM104 Help a Dublin Child Gig this comedy gig is set to be the hottest ticket in town. Montreal Just For Laughs Showcase Dublin - venue change
This year's JFL Showcase originally planned for Vicar St on Feb 17th has had to be re-located due to unforeseen circumstances ( insert your own conspiracy theory here ). The showcase will now take place in the International Comedy Club. The start time is 8pm. There will be 15 comedians on doing short 10 min sets hoping to win a coveted place at the Montreal JFL festival in July. The runners and riders are as follows : 1. Andrew Stanley 2. Dermot Whelan 3.
