Living on the run, with their three-year old son Oliver, has becoming increasingly tough for the young couple. Never having enough money or a place to call home is taking it's toll. When Ollie gets sick, the only person they can trust to help is Irene. They know they are putting her in a dangerous position but they fear they have no other choice.
But lets recap, on The Kirsty and Kane Story. Actress Christie Hayes describes them as nothing less than “destined to be together, sort of star-crossed, so when they’re together everything just explodes.” And explode they did! These two rarely had a peaceful moment in their relationship while in the Bay.
Kane entered the Sutherland’s life when he fell for Kirsty’s sister Dani. Then after being accused of allegedly assaulting Dani, Kane left the Bay for a while to re-assess his life. Upon his return he sought counselling, but still was refused forgiveness by the Sutherland family.
That’s when fate stepped in making Kane the heroic crewman who saved the passengers on board a boating trip in the Bay. Despite his heroism, he still was not accepted by the family, even after saving Mrs Sutherland from a snake bite while he, she, and Kirsty were stranded for a week after the accident on an island. When they got off the island Kirsty and Kane were put in hospital care, which is where they began to bond. After being released, their bond grew to friendship, which grew to love and Kristy and Kane soon started a secret relationship.
Her family tried to stop their forbidden romance, but it only drove the love struck couple closer together. Kirsty and Kane fled Summer Bay three times, the first time returning because Kirsty missed her family too much. Kane tried to let her go, but could not live without his true love and returned to the Bay to regain her love. Despite romances in his absence, when Kane returned to Summer Bay he stole Kirsty’s heart all over again.
Kane saved the Sutherland family yet again from being trapped in a cave, but when he later proposed to Kirsty, giving her an engagement ring with his bandaged hands, her family were less than happy. But this didn't hold them back and they still got married.
When they returned as Mr and Mrs Phillips they turned to Irene for a place to stay which she allowed, on the condition they told Kirsty’s parents about the marriage. She pretended she was pregnant and with this news, her family could not object to their relationship. This exciting news had Kane over the moon until he found out she had lied. The couple faced more hardships causing them to separate for a while, but it wasn't long until their intense magnetism brought them back together, and this time Kirsty truly was pregnant with a little boy.
In due time Kane was accepted in the Bay, and the couple lived for a short while in peace. They even renewed their vows with the big wedding Kirsty had always dreamed of. But during the pregnancy Kane was falsely convicted of a crime committed by his father and the two lovers fled the Bay again. They have been living anonymously and on the run ever since.
Will their return mean please and stablilty for this young family? Who knows, it is Summer Bay afterall!

It was intended to be a classic Early Years style storyline - a teen with a troubled home life. In a year where Bevan wanted to pay tribute to the show's history, the Melody storyline was created to do just that. And that's all she was ever invented for. Melody Jones was intended as nothing more than a short lived guest character in a short lived storyline.
However we can reveal that actress Celeste Dodwell has impressed both the H&A team and the audience so much that she will in fact be made a permanent character!!
Melody's guest stint will be over in about a month, after which she will be off our screens for some time before returning under permanent character status later in the year.
What happens to Melody during those months off screen is vital. It will result in Melody returning under very strong and dramatically powerful circumstances. This hard hitting storyline will continue to play out right until the end of the year.

After a year-long romance, Ritchie and professional skateboarder Harris have mutually decided to call it quits, both citing difficult timing and loaded work schedules as the reason for their split.
Speculation over the couple's relationship has been rife within industry circles of late, and gathered momentum following Ritchie's solo showing at the Logie Awards at the beginning of the month.
As a gold Logie nominee, the former Home and Away star was one of few celebrities permitted to invite a guest to the black-tie gala, but opted to enjoy the night alongside her network colleagues instead of Harris.
Confidential can confirm they separated two weeks ahead of TV's night of nights, but remain good friends - as evidenced in Ritchie's winning speech at the ceremony.
Now co-hosting Nova 969's breakfast radio show with Merrick Watts and Tim Ross, Ritchie, 29, was reluctant to be drawn on the break-up yesterday.
"We remain great friends but at this time we have decided to go our separate ways," Ritchie said in a statement.
Despite their four-year age gap, Corbin was much more than a sk8er boy for the showbiz star, and is widely credited for supporting her through the intense period of upheaval she experienced in the wake of leaving Home and Away's Summer Bay, where she spent 20 years playing the part of Sally Fletcher.
"Corbin has been an amazing support for Kate during a period of incredible change," a spokeswoman for Ritchie said.
Ritchie is less than six months into her new radio career, while Harris has similarly just begun working in television. He hosts Foxtel's extreme sports program Fuel TV
