My Lifestory

Tagline: Charmed, huh?
Me, Myself, and I: I'm John Langley Porter, novelist, artist, and all round visionary (which doesn't mean I'm a Knight of the Magical Light, although let's not rule anything out). My first book, the amazing StarStrikers: First Strike!, will finally be on-sale in the new year. It'll be worth the wait, no foolin'!
Music: 80s and 90s pop, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Swing Out Sister(!), all kinds of stuff. I carry at least one MP3 player with me everywhere and legitimately have withdrawl symptoms if I have to travel without one.
Films: I never have time to watch many movies. All time favourite = Kiki's Delivery Service, with an honourable mention to both Ghostbusters movies and both the 1986 and 2007 Transformers movies.
Sports: Pro Wrestling, if that counts. Which I'm not entirely convinced it does.
Scared Of: Nothing!
Happiest When: Writing. And if you could get me a Pepsi while I'm writing, that would be great.

Oh, wait! There IS one chapter that sorta harkens back to Ghostbusters, but the film, not the toon. Chapter 13, look out for it. ^_~

BTW the number of little 80s toon allusions in this novel is nuts: Transformers (duh), GI Joe, TMNT (sorta), even She-Ra! But no RGB...!?

237 pages / 20 chapters of the book are ready to go. Still roughly 100 pages to go. This'll take at least another day or two.

Listening to Smash Hits 1984 on #spotify. I'm not convinced ANY 1984 compilation needs *two* Howard Jones songs. Sheesh.

226 pages of layouts for the book are complete. Art placement is often awkward - I'm trying not to let it spoil the events of the story.
