We are delighted to announce the second Altitude Festival due to take place between the 28th March and 3rd April 2009, in Meribel, France.

The only comedy festival of its kind it takes place in the fabulous skiers paradise of Les trois Vallees – the largest skiing area in the world - right in the heart of the French alps, this is a fantastic fusion of some of the best UK, French and international comics performing every evening, stellar DJ’s and fabulous established and up and coming bands - this is the one festival of the season that truly shouldn’t be missed.

Some of the acts scheduled to take part this year include KT Tunstall, Phil Jupitus, Omid Djallili, Ardal O Hanlan, Phil Nichol, Andy Smart, Richard Vranch, Rich Hall, Marcus Brigstocke, Andrew Maxwell, John Bishop, Fred Macaulay and some of the finest comics working on the circ.   • Competitions' closing date extentions

    Due to popular demand the closing dates of the festival's band competion and the Alpine Antics competion have been extended. You've sent us some great vids so far and want to see some more, so keep them coming until the 7th April. Pardy Hardy boys and girls.

  • Altitude Festival Band Competition

    The Altitude Festival Band competition is not open to employees of Taking the Piste S.A.R.L.. No Purchase is necessary. Only one entry per Band. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost or which are not received for any reason. The winner will be the entrant whose video clip is selected to be the best of the entries by the judges. The closing date is the 3rd April 2008. If you win the competition, we will notify you by e-mail or telephone. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. You can find out the winners by visiting the festival’s Bebo home page after the competition has closed. By entering the competition the winner agrees to participate in such promotional activity and material as Taking the Piste S.A.R.L. may require. No part of a prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize. The winner of the competition will win the chance to perform on the main stage of the Festival supporting Grand National and Super U. Taking the Piste S.A.R.L. will cover the cost of return flights, transfers, hotel rooms, ski hire and lift passes. In the unlikely event that Grand National or Super U are not available to play their gig we will endeavour to ensure you open for one of the other acts playing at the festival. The winners will be expected to provide their own instruments and ensure their own safe transit. A back line will be provided. This competition is being run by Taking the Piste of Meribel France (73550). Taking the Piste reserves the right to amend these rules at anytime.

    Dearest Christian et al @ Altitude Festival,

    Just dropping you a quick line to let you know how fantastic the festival was for us in April!!!

    We've been playing gigs ever since, and have recently remixed Grand National after performing alongside them at Altitude 2008. We've got loads more remixes soon to be released on various record labels, some crazy underground parties in odd places, and we've just set up our own label Microrave Records...

    We'll send you the newly mastered material as soon as we get it back from John @ LOUD Mastering in London.

    Can't wait for Altitude 2009!!!
