Heidi Hotlips is the new Alternative Miss Limerick. Heidi won the hearts of the all at Dolan's with a high energy set and spectacular costumes which left Limerick in no doubt that Heidi is a true showgirl. Heidi took on some of pops biggest icons and won. She gave a humorous performance as Amy Winehouse for Daywear and stormed the stage with Britney’s Circus for Eveningwear.

Ten Alternative Beauties, are practicing their pouts and pirhouettes for the final of the Alternative Miss Limerick 2009. Each year the competition gets steeper and the battle for the coveted tiara reaches new heights of glamour and glitz .
“This year, we have some amazing talent on board. These are very exciting performers who are working extremely hard to prepare for the competition. We have a great mix this year of seasoned professionals and fresh talent…… and that is what I love about Alternative Miss Limerick, each year is full of surprises,” said producer Nicole Dunphy.
Newcomer, Pearl Star describes herself as ‘Fierce!!! Vivacious!!!! Faboush!!!’ Her ultimate fantasy is to sit above Henry St Limerick on a ten foot half moon covered in sequins in a kimono waving to the crowds below. ”My aim for the year is to represent Clare and Limerick in Americas next top Model, and to be a weather girl on Ireland AM.” Said Pearl.
Amanda Cummings. is part of Galway’s newest and best tranny duo. She has been doing drag seen April of this year. Daisy Dripps first put on her wig at this years Cork Pride but has been working hard on her act since then.
Limerick girl Claudia Shipwrecker is a showgirl in the making and may be one to watch. Dingo Squiz is from down under and is a dark horse in the competition. Terry Tightass us a hip hop bopper jock who loves women and music
Well known on the Limerick scene, Amy Tramp comes from playboy mansion but was kicked out because she is aged 21 which is 59 years in bunny years!
Rodger Bait has also built up a following in Limerick. He hopes to entertain with underhanded overtures of cosmic proportions delivered with a cocky smile!!
Another well know Limerick girl is Heidi Hotlips. After loosing her dress last year on stage, her goal for this years Alternative Miss Limerick, is not to strip, if it wasn't rehearsed! Heidi is still the German girl, who misses her country but at the end of the day she is part of limerick.
Mentoring the contestants this year are Limerick’s most famous drag duo Madonna Lucia and Sheila Fitzpatrick. “I would alway advise the contestants to think outside the box. Alternative Miss Limerick is always won not only on talent but original ideas,” said Madonna.
The Alternative Miss Limerick is produced by La Boutique and Confession gay nights. It takes place in Dolans Warehouse on Saturday October 17th at 9pm. Tickets are available from www.dolans.ie.

“The Alternative Miss Limerick gets entries every year from all around the country and abroad. But every year, after that show, I listen for weeks to people saying they wished they had entered. They had the clothes, they had the routine, they had amazing ideas, they just needed a sprinkle of courage,” said Producer Nicole Dunphy. “All I can say is just go for it. The Limerick audience are amazing and I have yet to meet someone who didn’t have the night of their lives on Dolans stage,” she continued.
The Alternative Miss Limerick is the talent contest for the uber- glamourous, ultra talented and extra left. An extravaganza of glitter, performance and avant-garde beauty that takes place in Dolans Warehouse Limerick
The Alternative Miss Limerick is for drag queens, drag kings and anyone who believes that the value of entertainment is in the unexpected.
Contestants will be put through their paces in three rounds Daywear, Swimwear and Eveningwear. Eveningwear incorporates the interview and talent round.
“I made my first appearance in drag at the Alternative Miss Limerick,” said Co-producer Madonna Lucia. “And look what happened since… life has certainly never been the same!” she continued.

Alternative Miss Limerick winner Angel Gaybriel sings live at La Boutique
Upstairs @ Dolans, Saturday April 4th, from 11.30pm
Angel Gaybriel takes her angelic voice and devilish attitude to La Boutique at Dolans this Saturday to celebrate a successful performance at the Alternative Miss Ireland where she represented Limerick.
Angel Gaybriel and her fellow cherubs and saints stormed the stage at the Alternative Miss Ireland with an emotive performance advocating gay marriage. For Evening wear she had on her sauciest angel wings and gave a strong performance of the song Objection.
“Angel did Limerick proud at this years Alternative Miss Ireland and we are thrilled to have her back at La Boutique,” said club promoter Nicole Dunphy. “It is a great chance for anyone who didn’t make it to the Olympia to see her perform and also a chance to come along and salut the Queen!,” she continued.
