- Adelante are one of Scotlands top Irish Ballad bands who bring there very own unique style to the Folk/Rebel Scene in scotland.
The band plays rousing covers and arrangements by the likes of christy moore, Wolfehound, The Barleycorn, The Wolfetones and the pogues!
The Band Have been together for three years now and are going from stregnth to stregnth.
At the moment there are a few lineup changes which are changing the face and sound of the band although in doing so also keeping the baseline sound that the band had strived hard to create over the past few years.
All in all the band are on the up and are at a new beginning of what looks to be an exciting journey...where we will end up....only time will tell.

Vol. Sean Mcilvenná 25th anniversary commemoration Parade Glasgow, & 10th anniversary of the band.
Saturday 5th December 2009 Assemble Hogganfeild Street Blackhill10:30 for 11am move off parade finish Royston hill, Royston.
Flute bands and Cairde Na hEireann support groups all in attendance also Hot Soup and sandwiches provided after the parade.
Band commemoration Function will be held later on at night more information to follow on this.

I would like to draw attention to the imminent invasion of loyalist thugs to dumbarton town (west of scotland) on saturday 8th aug, around 40 orange bands will descend on this predominately catholic town accompanied by thousands of loyalist thugs. This is happening in spite of the fact that the council rejected their application after 2 online petitions against it, various objections from residents and an objection from strathclyde police on the grounds that it would cause large scale public disorder & violence.
The grand black something or other (organisers) appealed this decision and today a sheriff ruled that the walk can go ahead.
There will be a counter demonstration taking place in dumbarton on saturday with Republicans & nationalists coming from all over to support us, I urge anyone who is able, to come to dumbarton on sat around 12:00 to show these sectarian bigots that "croppies will never lie down" TAL
