- YCP (Youth Cafe Project) is all about creating opportunities.
Opportunities for bands to perform.
Opportunities for young people to hear bands play.
Opportunites for venues to host music events.
Opportunities for youth organisations to run gigs.
Opportunities for young people to learn about running events.
YCP does this by...
...running weekly performances
...supplying bands with backline, PA and tech support
...sourcing bands for other events and concerts
...paying bands for playing (if you're good enough to play... you're good enough to pay)
...training volunteers and organisations
supporting host organisations to successfully run events.
YCP is part of 4YP which in turn is a not-for-profit part of Sound Entertainment. 4YP runs over 80 events each year including Youth Cafe performances, dance parties, big events etc. Check us out at www.4yp.co.nz or call Chris: 03 343-6243

Summer Gigs
Over the summer things get a little quiet around the Youth Cafe Project and 4YP. Like you guys, we are on holiday. I know some of you would love to hear some live music, but quite frankly the bands are on holiday too. My suggestion?... check out the beach and keep an eye on the newspaper gig guide... look out for the Youth Cafe updates on your phone or e-mail (just in case).

If you would like to subscribe to text updates on Youth Cafe gigs or receive our weekly e-mail... drop me a line chris@soundentertainment.co.nz or text 0274 370319.
The Youth Cafe Project will be up and running again in February with a couple of new venues all ready to roll!0 Comments 127 weeks

Sensational Summer Sounds
4YP and the Youth Cafe Project celebrated the opening of the Christchurch Summer Pool season... Sensational Summer Sounds at Jellie Park Pool on Saturday 14 November 2 - 6 PM.
5 bands... Full Stop, Forget Gravity, 3rd Day of May, Becky Jordon and The Young Souls.
The weather was against us and it wasn't the sunniest start of the summer. Despite this the bands perservered like the professionals they are.
This was one of the last gigs for The Young Souls who having come to the end of High School together and are now going their own ways (
sound of tears). Big ups to the boys who have been awesome to work with. The 4YP crew look forward to seeing what great things you each do in the future.
Meanwhile photos form the day will be posted soon.0 Comments 127 weeks
