'Euthanasia - a pleasant death' Half of me is working extra hard these days just to get out of bed, and perhaps - just perhaps - to fix myself some breakfast. The other half of me died a long time ago. She shuddered in the wind, and then vanished, like ashes caught in an updraft. I think it was a mercy killing really, a euthanasia of sorts. She did not really want to die, just a relief from the pain. She has lied to everyone; friends, family, lovers... noone would see her weak. Noone would see her in any form of real light. The lack of this light caused a slowly growing shadow to engulf every ounce of her being, the narrow walls seeming to cave in around her whilst she lay sobbing wrapped in bedsheets drenched in her own cold sweat. She has lied to everyone.. But not anymore. What is left of to hide? Only half of me remains. She thought the deceptive tales she told would help her, would nurture her, would protect her from the harsh reality of emotions. But when she lied to them, she lied to herself.
