Tipu Ake means To Grow and Mature. Tipu Ake is a course designed specifically to equip youthworkers to understand and work in Maori communities. This is a unique course with a specifically Maori flavour that will provide you with skills to work in Maori communities effectively in both urban and rural contexts.

We are all about learning and growing ourself to be the best Youth Worker we can be for GOD and for the Young people!

We are a very diverse group but when we put our six brains together we can accomplish anything that will be put in front of us. We know that this course will shape us to be the very best that we can be. And we are happy to see what it brings forth. Kia ora and have fun learning a lot about us and what we are about.

hey all it's freezing cold here in Gissy but I have been warmed up with the honour of a visit from Mizdan! which was great although short lived she had a long drive back to Auckland so had to make the most of her time, so couldn't do the sight seeing tour of Gissy, oh well never mind next time. Had Shekinah over for tea though for a good catch up which was lovely. My husband thoroughly enjoyed a visit to Christchurch and enjoyed staying with Jono and Vicki as well as meeting Ashley and Sala not sure if he learnt anything but he loved it!! Well hope all is well with you all!! and your not too cold!! (with all the work we have to do probably not aye!) catch up soon take care,

Gissy Girls
Well its been wet and rather cold here in Gissy but things are full on so it keeps me warm! Shekinah came round yesterday for a catch up and laugh at the lastest pics of block 2 and a talk about her youth group which keeps her busy. I am enjoying the survey and have decided to survey three different groups of youth I work with which keeps me on my toes!! I have been appointed a youth court lay advocate so have to get some new clothes to look good in court which is held fortnightly on the Marae here, I got to Karanga the Manuhiri onto the Marae for the last court gig which was rather overwhelming for me!! Life is so full on, our son Niko turned 5 this month so he's off to school now which is freaky as he is our baby!! I have finally completed my code of ethics assignment and fingers crossed its all good. Well this is my first blog and I don't want to put you all to sleep so Ill leave it there, see you all real soon,

So far we (ash and I) have started by doing our Youth Needs Survey with 8 peps, it has been interesting. Very time consuming but good!
Tipu Ake team if you havent started start doing it NOW!
All is going pretty good here - but waiting for the next block course to start up again!
