The Captain has been uneasy as of late: his relationship with Sharon was over, the Red Skull was back in business and his closest friends were dying. Nightmares haunt him every night. He still dreams of the war, the terrified screams of his fellow men, and Bucky. He still regrets the day he couldn’t save him. The usually reserved Captain was overflowing with unbridled emotions and released them almost uncontrollably within his missions.

He has broken the bones of wretched terrorists and he has even killed those foolish enough to stand in his way. Blinking, the Captain snapped back to reality, finding himself in the company of his old friend. He looked at the glass Tony offered and then his sweet baby-blues examined the bottle of whiskey for a few moments. “No thanks,” he said as he waved the devil’s brew away. “You know I don’t drink, Tony.”

As much as he was tempted to break his own values, drinking wouldn’t solve any of his problems; in fact, it would only make them that much worse. Staring blankly at the playboy philanthropist, the Captain posed a question: “Are you sure we’ll be able to run this little errand quietly?”

“It’s always been about big explosions and making grand entrances with you, Tony,” the Captain said.
