BACKGROUND OF DUBLIN THEATRE OF THE DEAF
Dublin Theatre of the Deaf was founded in 1975 at Old Deaf Club in Rathmines. They produced their first play called "CHILDREN OF THE LIR". It was a huge success for Deaf actors to their first serious play. They returned to continue the play on the following year.
Dublin Theatre of the Deaf had celebrated 25th Anniversary on September 2000 as they had play "CHILDREN OF THE LIR" again because it was a fond memory on first play since 1975.
