Melting Pot welcomes back Steve Kotey to the fold 3 years after his last appearance at the Riverside. In that time Steve has been rather busy building up a label empire that includes the ever reliable Bear Entertainment – which has introduced the likes of Todd Terje, Prins Thomas, DJ Kent, Lexx and more to the world. This was created after the success of his initial label – Big Bear, where Steve showed off his disco edits that obviously doffed their cap to those of DJ Harvey and the mighty Idjut Boys, whose labels, Noid and Discfunction, had previously been home to Steve's productions – Akwaaba, Afrobutt, etc. He has recently added the Ambassador's Reception label to the repertoire, which has showcased the highly talented Loud-E.
As well as amassing a label empire, Steve has continued to DJ across the globe. In fact, so impressive a DJ, the production duo Chicken Lips took him under their wing and made him their official DJ to represent them. This close partnership was cemented with Steve joining them in their productions as well, included the fantastic DJ Kicks album.
Steve's taste for quality disco was recently demonstrated when he compiled Disco Italia, some fabulously rare Italo disco, for the much welcome return of the Strut label.
Joining Steve in this tip top line up is Mr JD Twitch bringing his barnstorming Go Disco! set to light up the Melting Pot floor once again!
