Alvin and the Chipmunks is the second American animated television series to feature the singing characters The Chipmunks, produced by Bagdasarian Productions, Ruby-Spears Productions, and Lorimar-Telepictures (which became Lorimar Television in 198 . It aired from 1983 to 1990 on NBC and closely paralleled 1961–62's The Alvin Show. The show introduced The Chipettes, three female versions of the Chipmunks with their own human counterpart, Miss Beatrice Miller (who joined the cast in 1986). In 1988, the show switched production companies to DiC Entertainment and was renamed just The Chipmunks.

In 1987, during the show's fifth season, the Chipmunks' only animated feature film, The Chipmunk Adventure, was released to theaters by The Samuel Goldwyn Company. The film was directed by Janice Karman and featured the Chipmunks and Chipettes in a contest traveling around the world.

In its eighth and final season, the show again switched titles to The Chipmunks Go to the Movies. Each episode was a spoof of a Hollywood film like Back to the Future or King Kong. Several television specials featuring the characters were also released.

In 1990, the documentary Alvin and the Chipmunks: Five Decades with the Chipmunks was produced. That year, the Chipmunks also teamed up with other contemporary cartoon characters (such as Bugs Bunny and Garfield) for the drug abuse-prevention special Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue.

DangerMouse is a British animated television series which was produced by Cosgrove Hall Films.

It features the eponymous DangerMouse, a British mouse who works as a secret agent. The show is a loose parody of British spy fiction, particularly James Bond and the Danger Man series starring Patrick McGoohan. The hero wears a rakish eyepatch and his chest is prominently emblazoned with the initials "DM". This causes problems for those translating the series into other languages, where a literal translation of the words "Danger" and "Mouse" do not share those initials; the Scots Gaelic version, for example, calls the series (and the lead) "Donnie Murdo" (two given names unconnected either with mice or danger). The Slovenian translation omitted the DM initials entirely, however, dubbing DangerMouse Hrabri mišek ("brave mouse").

DangerMouse was the first British cartoon to break into the American TV market, being shown in syndication on June 4, 1984, where it garnered a tremendous fan following that still exists. Since it went off air it has been periodically repeated and been released on DVD. In the United States it was broadcast on Nickelodeon in the 1980s in the late afternoons and in the early evenings as a segue into prime-time hours (as the A&E Network and later Nick-At-Nite) as the series appealed to both pre-teens and adults with its quick-witted British humour.

In Australia, it was first broadcast on ABC TV, then in 1996 it was on Network Ten. It is still best remembered as a Classic ABC program. It was also the first British cartoon to break into Cheez TV, being shown on the weekdays. In Channel 4's 100 Greatest Kids' TV shows DangerMouse came third, beaten only by The Muppet Show and The Simpsons.[1]

Although rumours of a CGI revival of the show have persisted in recent years, no official announcements have been made.[2] The original DangerMouse has returned to terrestrial television after the BBC purchased episodes of the series to broadcast in its daytime schedules with its first broadcast on 12th February 2007.[3]

ThunderCats was an American animated television series developed and produced by Rankin/Bass Productions, debuting in 1983 based on the characters created by Tobin "Ted" Wolf. The animation was provided by Pacific Animation Corporation, the working name for a collective of Japanese studios prominently including Topcraft, a group who would later go on to form Studio Ghibli. Season 1 of the show aired in 1985 (65 episodes), followed by a TV movie entitled ThunderCats - HO! in 1986. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 followed a new format of twenty episodes each, starting with a five-part story; these aired from 1987 to 1988, 1988 to 1989, and 1989 to 1990, respectively.

The series was originally distributed by Telepictures Corporation which would later merge with Lorimar Productions. Near the end of 1988, Lorimar-Telepictures was purchased by Warner Bros., its television syndication arm would assume distribution and rights to the series from that point on.

In 1987, Elite Systems released the game ThunderCats:The Lost Eye of Thundera, for Commodore64/128 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum personal computer systems.

On March 17, 1997, ThunderCats was the first series seen on (Warner Bros' corporate sibling) Cartoon Network's new action-animation afternoon block, Toonami. The series would depart and return in various timeslots including Saturday mornings and late night marathons until 2002. A game was even created for Cartoon Network's official web site that allows visitors to play as Lion-O and rescue fellow ThunderCats while venturing into Mumm-Ra's tomb.

There were also several comic-book series produced: Marvel Comics' version, 1985 to 1988; and two series by Wildstorm, an imprint of DC Comics (another Warner Bros. corporate sibling), beginning in 2003. Items of clothing featuring the ThunderCats logo have enjoyed a resurgence in recent years.

It was announced on June 5, 2007, that Warner Bros. is making a CGI-animated feature film of Thundercats. The script has been written by Paul Sopocy and will be produced by Spring Creek Productions. No release date has yet been confirmed.
