I'm a Horror writer. Need I say more?

I'm mellow, so laid back I'm practically horizontal, many people wonder how I do it. When I work it out, I'll tell you.

Born in the George Eliot Hospital, with the same birthday as Bela Lugosi. Hmmm. That explains a few things =]

I have a dark sense of humour, comes from the shit I've seen and been through. But I can be sensitive when you need me to be, especially for my closest friends.

They call me Doc, because I'm usually lending a sympathetic ear to my friends. When it all falls apart, I will be there with you, picking up the pieces. I am fiercely loyal, and don't give up very easily. I look after me and mine, no matter what. However, I am a worrier. I worry about people terribly, especially when I don't know what's happening or people go quiet on me. If there's a problem, talk to me. I can (and usually do) help.

    • New story up on Lure of the Sea

      New story, Poison Girl, now uploaded on my book page, Lure of the Sea (link near the top of the page somewhere ^^^).

      I've also put in a brief insight into how it was redrafted, for those who are interested.

    • An Apology/Good Luck Message

      It brought a happy lump to my throat to read that my good friend and mentor, Mr Barrie Crampton, has retired from Colne Valley High after 37 years.

      Barrie became head of Sixth Form during my second year in it, and I was highly honoured to then go on and work alongside him in English lessons and extra-curricular activites such as the school magazine and TES Newspaper Day as a Teaching Assistant.

      Barrie is an amazing man, who inspired and enthralled hundreds (if not thousands?) of students over the years. It was a pleasure to watch him teach; he knew the best way into the minds of every student, and was not afraid to recognise his own limits too, a noble quality sometimes lacking amongst people these days.

      Such was my admiration and respect for him, I would often request to work with him each year, rather than leave our lesson rotas to chance. My departure from Colne Valley was not under the best of circumstances, and I feel now that I did let him down.

      So Barrie, I do apologise profusely for doing so. But I wish you and Vicky every happiness in your retirement, you’ve earned it!

      Hey, Andy. I haven't talked to you in a while! I see you mentioned the new Doctor Who series...so, you like it, eh? Me? I hates it. We hates, we do! What is this new adult theme they've got going? That was what Torchwood was for. The new TARDIS seems like they stopped building it half way through and the new guy - gods above! He looks like he was moulded out of play-doh! The CGI seems to be getting worse - can they thin of up of anything oriignal now instead of Daleks and Cybermen? C'mon! They had David Tennant fight Satan! Why not have this guy fight Cthulhu! They won't! 'Cause they suck! Ahem...So, how have you been?

      Apart from spending half of of father's day in local A & E only to be referred to another hospital 11 miles away. More waiting and were told to come back next morning. I had to go myself as hubby working. Got lost, got rescued by a taxi driver. Whilst waiting half the problem resolved itself but they still had to put poor Stuart under a general anasthetic! Found out the other half of the er problem had gone the other way! All this cos Stuart got a daisy stuck up his nose!! Half expecting hm to pull the stem out of his bum!! Thing is was supposed to be going to local funfair called the Hoppings with my friend and I basically txt her to say 'Sorry can't go Stuart has a daisy up his nose' Dunno if she believes me or not.. xxxx

      haha yes we meet again! i didnt think u would remember who i was. finished up my last year of high school last year and headed to switzerland to work in the alps for five months, met some amazing people from berlin so went to stay with them after work finished which was great! and now back in aus. whats been happening with you?? xx

      I read your blog, and I can only give you my deepest sympathies. I know what you feel, as it happened to me just last year. It was all happy at first, and then she started flirting with other men, often my friends, in front of me. Then there was the 'I feel awkward' thing, and then her friends, who were also, mine at the time, turned against me. Then it ended with her acting the total drama queen she is. To learn a person you have loved with all your being is cheating on you and avoiding you is so maddening it doesn't fit words. You have every right to be angry if you feel it. But, on the other hand, right now, all is fine. I'm entering a short story competition with a Lovecraft/M.R. James style story. Odd blend, I know. I hope everything works out fine for you, Andy.
