Children's TV charity Barnardo's have launched a new TV ad aimed at challenging some adults misconceptions about children. Many have criticised the ad as, although it is attention-grabbing, their real message is somehow lost in its controversy.

Last week, Lori Drew was convicted of only three misdemeanour offences for her involvement in the cyber-bullying case of Megan Meier’s, which led Megan to commit suicide. Ms. Drew created a fictitious character of a teenage boy on MySpace, befriended Megan and sent Megan flirtatious messages over a period of time. This boy then dumped the girl by saying: “The world would be a better place without you.”

Lori Drew was a neighbour of Megan’s and knew that she suffered from Attention Deficit Disorder, was emotionally fragile and yet still humiliated her, online.

We found some interesting stats today about how bullying is seriously affecting school life. A survey of local authorities in England found bullying was among the most common reasons for parents taking their children out of school.

Research showed more than 17,000 school age children were now taught at home.
Apparently, as many as one-in-seven of those were pulled out because parents feared sons and daughters were threatened by other children.

Being taken out of school can affect your school grades and your future plans if you want to go to college or Uni in the future.

This is why we all need to prevent this from happening, to ourselves and to our classmates. What can we do to prevent friends and classmates from being taken out of school? Or, have you skipped school before because of Bullying?
