"Never judge a book by its movie"

Scottish Book Trust is all about promoting reading, writing and literature in Scotland. In this incredibly fast-moving technological world, we're convinced that writing and reading are more important than ever, and we want to help people discover that, from primary school kids to retired grannies. We organise book awards, author tours and talks, writing competitions and interactive online projects, and we supports writers with a range of projects including skills development and bursaries, funding literature events, book awards and promoting Scottish writing to over 10 million (yep, that many) people worldwide.

New exclusive Ally Kennen story online
We've added the latest of our exclusive online stories to the Scottish Book Trust website, and it's a belter.

Rip Tide by Ally Kennen is a simple story of young friendship that's deeper and more affecting than you might first think.

Plus, Keith Gray's Creative Writing Podcast continues! We're now up to Part 3: Plot, and we'll have two new episodes up on the next two Fridays, after which point you should be ready to enter our short story writing competition!

Happy reading, happy writing!
