☆ Help Sick Kids!
　　　 Royal Edinburgh Hospital

This band was orginally set up to help save Sick Kids losing some of its wards - and we manged it!!
Cancer and heart wards are staying where they belong!



We are now here to help fundraise for this fantastic hospital, without many ex-children would not be here today - or certainly be worse off.

Forth Road Fun Trek!!!
Just a quick note to apologise for the recent lack of communication ( missing my granddad )

The walk is still on! Saturday 14th June, 1pm for a 1:30pm start.
( Note I think this is on the same day as one of the fife gala days )

Here are the rough details of what to do/is happening:

Before the day (to be done ASAP):
eMail aimi.burrows@selexgalileo.com with names, ages, contact details and next of kin details of all walkers. Also eMail regarding any items you wish you take on the walk.

On arrival:
Go to the south side of the bridge for the start.
Any sponsor money and sheets must be given to Aimi Burrows (myself.. in the red PJs)
( note.. sponsor 'sheets' can be plain paper with names and details of donators.. these do not have to be the offical sponsor sheets )
All walkers must ‘check in’ with Aimi Burrows, Elizabeth Fisher OR Debby Fisher

During:
All rules and regulations must be followed at all times (these can be found on this bebo blog page ) failure to follow these may result in disciplinary action.
Music (iPods/speakers) food, fancy dress, buggies etc are welcome but to be 100% sure please again eMail aimi.burrows@selexgalileo.com stating which items you wish to take ( you may want to just state these items when you eMail your details etc )

After:
After you have walked 1 or 2 lengths (personal choice) I and FETA bridge ask that you leave the bridge area & return to your transport or find a suitable area to wait on others.
We advice that you can wait in the south side car park ( sign posted ) or safely at the bus/lorry stop on banking at North side.
Please remember your own safety while waiting.

We hope you have a great day and remember it is all meant to be fun so please let’s make it that way.

Road Bridge walkers set sights on £500

A GROUP of fundraisers planning to walk across the Forth Road Bridge to raise money for a children's hospital have collected almost £150.

Three teams are currently planning on taking part in the event on June 14, led by former Sick Kids patient Aimi Burrows.

However, they are still looking for more sponsors and volunteers as they have a target of £500.

All the money raised will go towards the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.

Pages on the popular networking website Bebo have also boosted the campaign, with 230 people signing up in just four days.

Aimi Burrows, 18, from Broxburn, who suffered a Vesicoureteral reflux in the kidneys as a child, started the online petition. She said: “I have spent many days, nights and weeks in the Sick Kids as a child.

“It is a friendly environment for children. There are toys and paintings and the people there work with kids everyday.

“Children, like most people, do not like hospital, and I know from experience that it is a very scary place as a young person. But the Sick Kids was almost like a home away from home for me.”

FUNDRASING EVENTS II

Many of you have voted that you would fundraise for this special hospital.

One of the few ideas we have been given is a sponsered walk around over the forth bridge.

It will be in the middle of June so plenty time for planning and will be accessable for everyone to do!!

I will be starting a poll soon as there has also been a sponsered bike ride/walk around edinburgh (meadows etc)

Sick kids hospital takes care of all sick kids and helps them get betta.
I broke ma wrist when i was 2 (falling off a chair and snapping it of a table!!!:O ) and they took great care of me!!

Hi every1, our son Nathan was in ward 7 to get a shunt put in coz he has hydrocephalus (fluid/water on the brain). All the staff were gr8 and helped put us at ease. we were a long way from home but they were so supportive. lots of love 2 RHSC. XXXXXXXXXXX

hi there im 23 weeks & 3 days preg wif a baby girl but have found out she has gastroschisis :( & have found out she will be at Royal Hospital For Sick Children i was wondering if there is any1 elses babys tht have had gastroschisis & went 2 this hospital cus im so scared about it :(

heres sum love 4 all the children tht r in the hospital rite now & hope u all get better soon :D xx

Hi,

my name is Lyndsay and my little baby neice Ella Bay was in with meningitis a couple of months ago, this was such a hard time for all the family but thank god she is better now and such a little darling, she's 8 month old now and improving every day.

Just want to say thanks so much to all the staff at the sick kids, you all were amazing, I take my hat off to you all, you do a very hard job!!!

Unfortunately I lost my nephew kurt last october when he was just 7 in a hit annd run car crash...But the staff were amazing..

just want to say think this page is brill the sick kids should get more recognition for all the hard work they do want to say a big thanks to all the staff on ward 7 they have been a lot of support to us with all the back and forth with our wee boy james they all rock, we are in the process of fundraising for james (am doing a tandem skydive in july) and will be buying ward 7 a pressie once all the money is sorted out xxxxxxxx
