  • Youth Group Ball- Escape 2 Africa!!

    When: Saturday the 8th of August 2009
    Time: 7-10pm
    Where: North West Baptist Church, 67 Hobsonville Rd.
    Theme: Escape to Africa
    Cost: $10 (tickets available soon)

    Where will the money go? To help fundraise for a team called 'Team Ziwi' to go to Zimbabwe to spread the love. They will be working with AIDS orphans, teachers, pre-schools and allot more. Anna McLeod from our Saltus Youth group is part of the ‘Team Ziwi’.

    Do we dress to theme? Yes and we are asking for semi-formal. An idea could be dressing up as a animal from Africa (like black and white for a Zebra) but you guys showed with the geeks and freaks out fits how creative you are when it comes to dressing to theme :)

    Will there be prizes? Yes there will be for best dressed and some other things.

    Start inviting your friends- All Welcome! :)

  • Easter Camp 09 feedback!!

    Easter Camp 09-The Faithful...How did you find it? what were your highlihgts? lowlights? what did god do in you over easter camp? what is sumthing you want to remember? what do you want to do after coming back from EC? who did sumthing so stupid/crazy? what michief did you or your group get up to?

    This is a space to reflect, discuss, encourage, share, and just write about nething and everything to do with easter camp..It can be long, short, or just a word. Its up to you. It can be funny,serious or any other emotion you can think of. Consider it a blank canvas, do to it what you wish. The above questions are just some to think about, you don't have to follow them..not at all. Be great to hear back from everyone, go hard!! :D

    (p.s only restrictions: keep in clean and build each other up, don't pull anyone down. cause we are a loving group reflectiong Jesus :) )

    The lowdown on the garage sale..

    Its this saturday!
    For those of you who wanna help itd be much appreciated..
    I need baking to sale (cakes and biscuits etc.) so if anyone can bring something along thatd be rad ;)

    also, We will be pricing items in the small hall on friday night.

    The main thing i need help with though, is things to sell so rumage around and try to find things you dont want anymore. They will be stored in the basement in the office at church

    I craved EC09, such a treat.

    Many people commented it wasn't as good as previous years

    I beg to differ, God really turned up!!

    Best Service : Sunday Morning where the holy spirit was allowed space

    Best Message: Give up ambitions to follow Gods plan it will be better

    Best Seminar : Call to Community

    Best Person : Eusebius Soon

    Best Moment: Lane giving his life to Jesus!!

    Overall a wicked camp i am definitely going back as a leader next year!!

    I think you are right Becka :) Although Alice Davidson (Joy, Amy & Sarah's mum) is organising one to Africa I think for next year to go to Zimbabwe and stuff. I think it will be more adults on that trip but should be a great experience. Otherwise Sarah you could look into doing a Tranzsend trip :)
