WHAT IS HD?

HD (Huntington's Disease) is a hereditary, genetic illness that causes damage in a certain part of the brain.

This stops the brain and body from working as well as they used to, and affects a persons movements, thoughts and behaviour.

People generally start to develop symptoms of HD between the age of 30 and 50.

THE STAFF
The youth service currently has two youth advisors and one admin.

Kirsten Walker covers the South/West of Scotland and David Drain covers the North/East of Scotland.

Laura Maguire is based in the Glasgow office, however provides admin support to Kirsten and David.

    Our Exciting Easter activities this year are as follows:

    * White Water Rafting in Perthshire - Monday 11th of April 2011 - Junior Group

    * Go Karting in Kirkcaldy - Thursday 14th of April 2011 - Senior Group

  • Christmas Activity 2010

    Hi everyone!
    Ho, ho, ho!!! Our Christmas acivity this year is on Saturday 18th of December and will be taking place in Glasgow. We are planning on going for lunch and then heading to Laser Planet!

  • Some really important questions....

    John, our CEO is applying for funding for Kirsten's post and would like your help. He wants to be able to tell the Big Lottery what you think about the youth service and he is asking everyone to cut and paste these three questions into their reply and give a short answer to each question. You can also help by letting anyone you know through the youth service about helping John....

    1. What difference does the youth service make to you?

    2. Where would you go for help about HD if the SHA didn't have a youth service?

    3. What is the most important thing someone deciding about funding for the youth service should know?

It was amazing i wasnt in with any of my mates or anyone in my class and i had to make other mates and i did :D . .I spoke to the guy i speak to in my school . cause he was up anyway :D .
