- Bulgaria has many street dogs who are often subjected to the most horrendous cruelty. They are kicked, beaten and shot on a regular basis for no other reason than that it provides certain individuals with amusement. Many of these dogs are injured and in pain or starving and in the winter there is a high chance that they will freeze to death.
Since moving to Bulgaria in 2007, we have rescued many of these dogs, but we are unable to take in any more. It is unrealistic to think that one family can solve the problem, but what we can do is to try to do our best for the many street dogs in our town. Our aim is to raise funds so that we can get premises where we can have kennels and start a sterilization programme. It will also be used for dogs whose lives are in imminent danger through sickness or injury. We realise we can not take all the dogs off the streets but this will reduce the numbers in the future.

April 2009 Highlights
From (www.streetdogrescue.com)
30th April
None of the forest pups were there today. We had a drive around the mountains but couldn't see any sign of them. Liam and Tony spotted the old partially blind dog today. They stopped and went back, but by that time it had disappeared. It was on the other side of town from where Luke saw him weeks ago. One of the dogs we fed today was in a very poor state. He has lost quite a lot of hair and is very scared. He did eventually come over for some food. Pippy and Poppy had their first vaccinations today and their first worm treatment.
28th April
pics have been added of the dogs in Holland in their new homes and any news is added under "adopted dogs" on the discussion board.
27th April
Only Rosie and Elf were at the forest huts today. Yesterday Elf was there on her own and before that it was just Bracken. We still haven't seen the other 3. Bigdog has an ear infection which is being treated. Poppy and Pippy have moved in as they were in danger of being run over. William and Trixie move when they see cars coming but the little ones have no road sense. Lily is well and getting bigger by the day.
27th April
All dogs that went to Holland are fine and happy and being well looked after. Sil and Vera have done a brilliant job and the screening process has been thorough. Many homes were refused because they weren't suitable. It is for this very reason that just over a week ago the people who were adopting Samson and Fluffy were told the adoption wouldn't be going ahead. With only a few days to go, another family said they wanted to adopt Fluffy. Until homechecks have been carried out and the adoptions agreements signed, the dogs don't go to any new owners. This is why Fluffy is with a very good and experienced foster carer.
25th April
Just heard that the dogs are doing fine on their journey and will be arriving in Holland tomorrow, late afternoon.
24th April
Wolfy, Snoopy, Bella, Tallulah, Fluffy, Tuffy, Lucky and Samson left on their journey 3 hours ago. They are hoping to make Holland on Sunday afternoon. It was so hard seeing them go. Many of them have been part of our lives and family for such a long time. I just wish they knew what was happening and that they are heading to their forever homes. Sil, vera and maybe my daughter Kerry, are meeting them in Rotterdam with the new owners. As soon as we have pictures of them in their new homes, we will put them on the group page. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored dogs or donated. You have all helped to make this possible. The 2nd trip of dogs going to new homes in Holland should be taking place the first week in June.
None of the pups were at the forest huts this afternoon. It is the first nice day we have had in a while, so I expect that Rosie, Elf and Bracken are all somewhere together. The others haven't shown up yet. All we can do is hope that one day they will turn up. It is the not knowing that is the hard part.
22nd April

The Transfer of the pups to Holland Is in 2 days, nerves are fraught, The Rowles use a *Pet Chauffeur* A company who are based In The UK, They were recommended and are really good with the dogs. There is air conditioning and food and water during travel. It is expensive but with the mature dogs, it is important to have people handling them who are experienced.
The second leg of dog Travel was to be done by a lady who offered to Transport the dogs But unfortunately has had to pull out, which Means That *Pet Chauffeur* WILL need to be used again,as you can probably Gather This is NOT a cheap service for a struggling charity
Could you offer a small Donation? even just a couple of Euros or Dollars, Times ARE bad But we have a roof Over our Head on food on our table, with your 2 D -
Media Promotion - Need help spreading the word!!
by
Rudozem Dogs
Hi everyone.... I'd like some help in promoting Rudozem street Dog Rescue.0 Replies 131 weeks
The best way to do this is through the Media!!! Newspapers, radio & even televion if we are lucky!!
Other mediums through the internet - magazines, forums, other charities
If everyone can help write to some of the following email addresses/Enquiry forms, it would help a lot!!!
If you have any more places / email addresses - Please add them!!!
I know the list can be overwhelming, but even if you wrote to only 1 place, it goes a long way!!

(Tip: You don't have to write to each individual email address... If you take the template letter, and adapt the letter to suit you and what you feel about the cause. In your Email - instead of pasting the email addresses in the "To" field, paste them instead into your "BCC" field. This lets you then send to as many email addresses as you want without the receiver knowing who else you have sent the email to.
Sample Email
From:
To: (leave blank)
Subject:
(Show Cc & BCC): Press on BCC - Add all your email addresses in here. Each email address should be separated by a comma - for mulitple email addresses.
After your letter is ready. Then Press Send. Trust me, it will send to the whole group of emails you have inputed without showing who else you have sent to..
Please be careful when sending the letter to each organisation that the right angle of information applies to that particular company...
