(58 weeks ago) me too! | Reply | | What is Revelation? | | Revelation is a network of Christian-based rock-gospel choirs in student institutions throughout the UK. Everyone is welcome no matter what their ability, talents or beliefs. The aim is to create an environment where friendships can be built and hidden abilities drawn out.
Revelation is more than just a choir! | | | What kind of songs do we sing? | | Everything from traditional gospel songs, to busking songs, to pop songs, to songs from musicals... Make a suggestion, and maybe we can learn it!!! | | | What happens at a typical rehearsal? | | Rehearsals are relaxed and fun! We do simple scales and sing silly songs to get our voices warmed-up, before learning and rehearsing songs.
All our songs are taught by ear, so there's no need to be able to read music! And we always have a juice-break in the middle, with plenty of Haribo to go round!!!
We also have a dance splinter group that rehearses in the weeks leading up to our concerts for anyone who likes to dance (again, no experience necessary!!) | | | Other events... | | We have social events in Aberdeen throughout the year like bowling or going to the pub. And since there are other Revelation choirs around the UK, there are several National events every year, when you can meet people from the other choirs and do lots of fun stuff, as well as getting to learn new songs and sing in a big choir with everyone!! | | | Songs we are learning this term: | | Honolofatsa (Soweto), I will follow him (Sister Act), Khumbaya (funky version!), and Witness. | |

We are going down to Edinburgh to support Edinburgh Rev for their concert! We'll go down on the Saturday afternoon, go see the concert (which I'm told is going to be REALLY GOOD!!) in the evening, go to the after party, we will be able to sleep on various Edrevver's floors, then head back up on...
