  • Research Deluxe Announces Release Date for LeRoy Brown's " theLRBeatsuite "

On December 15, 2009 Research Deluxe will be releasing LeRoy Brown's first album, appropriately titled theLRBeatsuite. The album was originally completed in early 2007 from sessions that were recorded in the mid 2000's but saw a series of ups and downs while making its way towards an official release. This piece combines elements of hip hop, funk and soul, yet cheffed up with a nice experimental twist. Distribution for the release covers over 700 of the world's leading digital outlets including iTunes, Amazon, HMV, e-Music, Beatport, Juno as well as major mobile carriers including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc. Be sure to grab a copy on December 15.

  • Blog title...

At the end of May 2009, LeRoy Brown rolled out of bed around 6am to take a trip down to the Orange County Fairgrounds in Orlando, FL for their annual spring record show. There was plenty of wax to go around, so have a look at the photo journal that he put together for Research Deluxe... and he even included the dirty finger prints.

  • 2009 Update at Research Deluxe

2009 has been off to an excellent start at Research Deluxe. Much of the artist roster has been locked away in various studios around the Orlando, FL area, and have been preparing their latest creations which will be released this year.

The Students of Science have been nearing completion of their yet-to-be titled debut, chock full of laboratory oddities and surprises, and is due out in the spring of '09. The project is between an EP and LP at this point, and the last of the sessions will be completed this month at LeRoy Brown's Annex Room studio.

Abdias Garcia has been preparing his solo project for release, which is due out by mid-late '09, as well as working the breaks (under the pseudonym Ed Diaz) with Crates Anatomy, Tripleta, and all of the other spinoff projects between AG and the Research crew.... we've even heard the possibility of an AG / LRB collaboration for this year, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We'll keep you posted as this rumor develops.

As far as the spinoffs are concerned, The Tripleta Sessions went down at Full Sail as part of their Artist Series on Jan. 5, 2009. This one night occasion left the group with two new sessions to take back to the lab for mixing and will be released as an A / B single in the coming months.

Two weeks later, AG and the boys were down at Roho Cafe to do a few sets for the Art Walk series in downtown Orlando. The Roho set was followed by the 2nd installment of Good Look (Bikkuri Lounge) with Crates Anatomy, Stereo 77, and DJ Excel from Philadelphia

The Caltones have gone through some ups and downs trying to get the tracking schedule and location together for their new album, running through numerous studios and gear choices and have recently settled on the locale for tracking, which will begin in the coming weeks. We'll be sure to keep you posted on that as well.

Last but not least, we bring you the Crates Anatomy news. The group has scaled back on live performances over the last 3 months in order to sift through their 50+ hours of live shows from the summer of 2008, which will be used on an upcoming live compilation album. Session have also been in progress for their "world-flavored" ep, which will include distinct, regionally influenced selections from around the globe.... all set to the rhythm of a break.

A track from each of the upcoming releases as well as the rest of the roster will be featured on the Raw DLX compilation, the front runner for the 2009 release schedule. The compilation will be finalized and released in the next 2 months, so stay tuned for that.
