- History
- RePublik is the brain child of some of Waterfords most well known DJs & producers. With Warren Sauvage and Gavin & Mac playing at some of the major dance events Waterford has seen over the years. In 2005, Warren & Tony ran Inspire Musik record store and started running their own events, at which Kenno was resident DJ. In the summer of '05 they decided to start up a new club where the DJs had more say in how they ran things. They got together with Gavin & Mac who were Resistance residents and also with Ray C (Beat 102-103) and they decided to give it a go and hey presto REPUBLIK was born!
With lots of blood sweat and tears 2 years later with a string of major parties under our belt from DJs - Mark Farina, Miguel Migs, Yousef, Kerri Chandler, Halo, Joey Youngman, Charles Webster, Phil Weeks, Jason Hodges, Rob Mello & Jazzy Jeff, RePublik is now one of the most respected house events in the country, and now in 2009, we promise to keep on keepin' on! - Web Broadcast
- The RePublikan Broadcast is our weekly Internet Radio Show every Thursday Night @ 10pm you can join our resident DJs playing the best in Quality Underground House : listen live - http://radio.myhouse-yourhouse.net/
Check out some of the other great shows from people like DeMarkus Lewis, Blue Iguana Music and BBQ Records, and many more.... - Whats the future for RePublik
- Well if the previous thre years is anything to go by, we hope to the next two will be just as successful. After our little summer vaction we start back in the Loft this October & already have lined up guests for the final months of 2008!!

Defected's Greg Dowling & Shane Johnson aka Fish Go Deep return to play for RePublik on Bank Holiday Sunday May 31st. Over the past three years Fish Go Deep have played to sell out shows in The Loft, Electric Avenue & Ten. But this time, RePublik are delighted to have a new & improved Loft with double the capcity & a whole new dancefloor. All will be revealed on the night so our regulars should have a nice surprise to celebrate the long weekend. Support on the night comes from RePubliks own Gavin Boyce, Daz & Martin Roche. FISH GO DEEP biog:
Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson have been playing records in public since the late 1980s. Their residency at Ireland’s longest running and best known house club, Sweat at Sir Henry’s in Cork, spanned more than a decade and influenced a generation of Irish clubbers and DJs, picking up numerous awards and accolades along the way. Since finishing Sweat in 2001, Fish Go Deep’s travels have taken them to clubs across Ireland, the UK, Europe the Middle East and Asia and throughout the US and Canada. During that time they have also hosted many of the world’s top house deejays at their hometown Go Deep residency.
They have presented the Go Deep radio show on Cork’s Red FM since 2004 and also broadcast weekly on Istanbul's Power FM and monthly on Ireland’s national music station, 2fm. Greg and Shane have been producing music under the Fish Go Deep name since 2000, earning widespread praise from deejays, dancers and journalists around the globe. The duo’s earliest work appeared on New Jersey’s seminal i! Records and more than thirty releases have followed on labels such as Brique Rouge, Gourmet, Chez Music, Defected, NRK, Innervisions and Strictly Rhythm.
Fish Go Deep tracks have been included on dozens of compilations, on labels in the US, Canada, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Ireland, South America and South Africa. In 2005 Greg and Shane launched two of their own imprints - Ork Recordings, with fellow Corkman, Mark O'Sullivan, and Go Deep. To date, releases on both labels have found favour with such heavyweight DJs as Louie Vega, Timmy Regisford, Laurent Garnier, Charles Webster, Dixon, Jimpster and Ame and have been licensed to many different territories.
The Cure and the Cause, a collaboration with singer/songwriter, Tracey K, was a huge underground hit throughout 2006 and, after a re-release by house giant, Defected, spent the final weeks of that year in the UK Top Forty Chart. A US release followed on Strictly Rhythm in 2007. The follow-up single with Tracey K, Battery Man, spent several weeks near the top of the Traxsource charts during Autumn 2008 and many further releases are due during 2009.0 Comments 51 days

Re:Publik present ELLIOT EASTWICK (Paper, Salt City Orchestra)
Saturday May 16th will see RePublik play host to another legend of the UK house scene, in the shape of Manchester's finest, ELLIOT EASTWICK. Elliot has long been a regular visitor to these shores over the years and always produces the goods with some stellar performances for Play & for Musiklab. On this occasion has promised to dust off some old Salt City Orchestra classic's aswell as some of the most up-front house tracks currently working the dancefloors.
Elliot's Djing career began in 1992 at Manchesters famous Hacienda, playing frivilous disco sets in the clubs gay Traitor Bar. It was here he fell over his soon to be partner in crime, Miles Holloway. Picking up his first residency at the boardwalks now defunct 'Yellow' night alongside journalist Dave Haslam. It was here he taught himself to experiment a little, playing disco next to soul, house, and weird funky nuggets. The gigs at the Hacienda coninued, playing support to all sorts from Sister Sledge to The Pet Shop Boys and various
others. In 1993 came an offer Elliot couldn't turn down. A new club was opening in the nearby city of Leeds, called 'Hard Times' which was to become one of the most respected and underground of the British 'superclubs' [rip]. With Eastwick and Hollway at the wheel this was sure to be one of the most solid resident team ups in the UK, outplaying the likes of Danny tenaglia, Todd Terry, Derrick Carter who were regualr visitors to the club.
in 1994 came his first studio outfit, as Salt City Orchestra, the pair recorded 'Storm' for the awesome Tribal uk label. It instantly became the labels biggest selling record and planted the seed for the now legendary Paper Recordings, which they set up in 1994 and released
classics like 'Downtime' 'The Book' and many more. Word spread fast and soon enough the pair were remixing for the likes of Underworld, Moloko, the Sneaker Pimps and Marshall Jefferson and releasing records and mix albums on both Pagan and Paper labels. Elliot left hard times in 1996 to concentrate on his homegrown 'Robodisco' . This night is still in full effect and whilst releasing its quirky mix albums ,it continues to be a vehicle for Elliots sideways slant on house. The pair also began touring the world Djing.
In 1997, things went full circle and Elliot and Miles were asked to be the Saturday night residents at the Hacienda, this time with full control of the night. Unfortunalty the club shut down 6 weeks later, but not before elliot managed to play the last record, this can be
seen in reincarnation the the film "24 Hour Party People."
A new millenium brought a new guise, out went the Salt City Orchestra and in came the new 'Reset', which helped Paper recordings become the UKs biggest selling undergorund house label. By the early 2000s, Elliot also conquered his fear flying and spent the year
catching up on all those exotic locations such as New Zealand, Africa, Australia, Usa, Norway and Russia. Elliot also had got more into the presenting side of things with shows on Kiss & Galaxy FM, which in turn led him to write regualr for music mag's like Muzik, Faith , Jockey Slut and Mixmag. With the success of these, Elliot decidied to go into TV presenting with shows such as 'Fakin' it' which he was a judge for a DJ comp for Channel 4 aswell as his own 'This is Music' for Granada TV & ITV. Knowing Elliot one thing that comes across is his superb sense of humour, which led him to create ''Elliot Eastwick's World Famous Pub Quiz' which was hosted at some top venues like The Comedy Store in Manchester aswell as various clubs and pubs across the The UK & Europe, aswell as backstage at some of the top UK festivals and band tours such as Coldplay.
He also managed to hit the mainstream charts with the hit single 'Numer One' on the Wall & Sound label, which was a disco-funk house cut that feeatured the vocal talents of Sam Lynam. Nowadays Elliot is back on the Uk scene once more touring and playing various clubs. There is also a r0 Comments 59 days
