- Me, Myself, and I
- Rome" is the saga of two ordinary Roman soldiers and their families. An intimate drama of love and betrayal, masters and slaves, and husbands and wives, it chronicles epic times that saw the fall of a republic and the creation of an empire. The series begins in 52 BC, as Gaius Julius Caesar has completed his masterful conquest of Gaul after eight years of war, and is preparing to return to Rome. He heads home with thousands of loyal battle-hardened men, huge amounts of loot in gold and slaves, and a populist agenda for radical social change. Terrified, the aristocracy threatens to prosecute Caesar for war crimes as soon as he sets foot in Rome. Caesar's old friend and mentor, Pompey Magnus, attempts to foment mutiny in order to maintain the balance of power. Two of Caesar's soldiers, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, thwart Pompey's plan and in the process, win the eternal gratitude of Caesar and the Julian clan, affording the two plebian officers an intimate view of the ruling class.

ROME THE MOVIE
It has been some time now that talks about a rome movie have been going on.
I said a long time ago that it is confirmed a rome movie is underworks. Well it is true but the movie is still apparently at the beggining stages. Bruno Heller is again writing for it and it has only been confirmed that one actor from the Original Seasons is going to be in it and that actor is the great Ray Stevenson ( Titus Pullo ).
The story itself is being kept very hush hush but sorces of mine have told me that there are three story lines that have been wrote and it is still unsure on which one is to be used.
This is what i was told.
Story 1- The early life of pullo which starts of when he was younger and started he training for the army and goes onto his battles with the 10th legion before he joined the 13th legion.
Story 2- After vorenus apparently died ( still not confirmed if this is way story goes ) the story about pullo was cut short and considering he just got a child who also belonged to ceaser. The story is ment to go on about what happings to pullo and Caesarion this is ment to be a story line on hardship and love.
Story 3- Again this is about pullo and Caesarion but is more to do with pullo who becomes a body guard of augustus and goes on about the wars across the Rhine and in Persia.
I am sorry these are all the details i have on this at the time but as i say it is very hard to get information on this at this time.
Well have a look and tell me what you think the best story line you think would be.
I Myself think the first story line sounds good.1 Comment 86 days

Purefoy aka Mark Antony reveals all
He plays Mark Antony in the HBO/BBC original television series, Rome. His full frontal nudity in episode four of the series caused a sensation among the show's viewers.
When his Wikipedia entry was brought up in an interview with Alastair McKay, published in the January 2007 issue of Out magazine, Purefoy said,
"I won't say whose it was, but there was a penis in the series that may have been slightly enhanced. But it wasn't mine. Mine's all mine, I'm afraid."0 Comments 423 days

Fact's about Cleopatra
by
Alison
Over the years Hollywood has portrayed Cleopatra as a beautiful temptress and mainly focused on her famous love affairs with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony.0 Replys 96 weeks
The fact is she was not that good looking but was a highly intelligent woman who used her amazing persuasive powers to try and prevent Egypt being taken over by the Romans.
Queen Cleopatra was the last pharaoh of Egypt. She was not an Egyptian. She was a Macedonian Greek descended from Ptolemy 1, a Greek general of Alexander the Great who became king of Egypt when Alexander died in 323BC.
She was the only pharaoh in the 300-year Ptolemaic dynasty who could actually speak Egyptian.
In fact she spoke nine languages but not, strangely, Latin -despite her close involvement with Latin men.
There were seven women named Cleopatra in the dynasty. Even one of her sisters was named Cleopatra. That's why she was officially known as Cleopatra VII.
Whether she was physically beautiful is subject to debate. Coins of the time depict a woman with a hooked nose and masculine features.
But she obviously had strong charisma and a very attractive, vibrant personality.
Her high intelligence was on a par with Julius Caesar, one of the world's great thinkers.
She also had a sense of occasion and clever presentation skills.
Her legendary first meetings with Julius Caaesar and Mark Antony are still talked about. She staged various major attractions to impress them, such as her romantic royal barge tours along the Nile River.
Both men fell in love with her and fought major wars for her that eventually cost them both their positions and their lives - such was her power of persuasion.
While she failed in her ultimate goal of preserving Egypt, she did score many major successes along the way and eventually scorched out a place in world history.
When she killed herself it was probably not because Antony had suicided. It was because she did not want to be paraded through Egyptian and Roman towns and cities in shame as a prisoner.
She was 39 years old when she died in 30BC.
She probably used an asp (an Egyptian cobra snake) for the job because Egyptian religion said death by snakebite would ensure immortality.
It certainly did for her. Who can forget Cleopatra?

Craig Tait6 weeks agoMarcus Aggripa was general to octavian. But in around 39 BC is was made govenor of Transalpine Gaul one of the first places to be reached after the alps and Italy. Where he put down the Aquitanians and also fought some germanic tribes being the first person to cross rhine since Ceaser. After Octavians bad and very humiliating navel defeat agansed sextus pompay he was called back to rome to start consulship in 37 BC ( he was below minimal age of 43 but Octavian Needed his support in the Senete). But anyway in 31 BC after the battle of Actium Octavian was made master of Rome and in 27 BC Octavian was giving the honoury title of Augustus and was in effect the first Emperor of Rome.

Ceaser Was never emperor just Emperator ( head of all armys ). Anyway in celebration for Augustus Aggripa designed and built the Pantheon of his name. Its was destroyed in 80AD and rebuilt by Domitian it again burned down in 110AD and is said Hadrian Rebuilt it again but was actually Trajans Architect so he should have credit but on the Pantheon it still reads Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucius, Consul for the third time, built this.

Under the Eagle
The Eagles Conquest
When the Eagle Hunts
The Eagle and The Wolves
The Eagles Pray
The Eagles Prophecy
The Eagle in The Sand
Centurion
The Gladiator.
They had been scripted for two seasons with hopes of and extra three after that then hoping to make a final two or three after that which would of covered from ceasar then foccusing on the first emperor Augustus. Of course with HBO to worried about there pockets rather than Romes Fans ( which has been done in other shows in america ) BBC were unable to fund the massive show themselves so the second season which i did enjoy had to be rushed just to make the story line finnish. Of course they managed to fit in almost 15 years between augustus and antony in a few episodes a shame really since augustus done so much in his life.

I have actually read all the simon scarrow books and am currently reading them again for a second time and have just started the eagle and the wolves again. But have not had time to read gladiator yet the new book from simon as will wait till i have read to the end again.
And for a third season of rome it is looking very unlikly which does pure suck but the talks of the movie are becoming more and more. But is being kept as secret as the newest star trek movie.

yes it is true bruno heller is underway on making a script for a ROME The Movie. But there are still some legal actions to been taking with HBO ( the lovely people who ruined the great show ). Ray stevenson tho has talked with come talk company's and said that there is things underway but he does not no to much about it but he would jump at the chance to return as his most favoured charecter Titus Pullo and some romours are saying the Vorenus might not be as dead as he seemed something that i said a would be writing in my own script. There is also chance that many other charecters from the second series will be returning as it will be based after the 2nd series.
But at this time there is still no confermation on it being made as we will have to wait for legel suits to go through and getting all the cast back at the time. But if it does go through Bruno heller said " ALL GOING WELL I WOULD HOPE TO HAVE THE MOVIE UNDERWAY IN 2011.

Hey how be things,
So have you been writing a carry for rome alison, a been watching rome continues to try a write one and looking up actual facts of the time which a mainly know anyway.
A been basing it on the characters of the original rome adding some more of my own because of the fact so many were killed of in season two. I have been also trying to include alot of navel information in it as octavian was the first to set the first navy war machine up. But also include information about his adopted son tiberius which becomes the next and first person to become emperor from time of apointment to time of death. Also trying to include herod because he is known as herod the great for a reason the building projects he made with roman ( Octavians ) help was unreal for that time.
But a cant forget pullo and vorenus although it appears that vorenus died would like to keep him allive but possible use pullo and vorenus as mercs as they may of become.
N why am a not a top friend -

Yeah a had a look about the real soldiers, n aye turns oot they were real soldiers but as a said the people they are made out to be in rome they were good friends fighting for promotion againsed each other.
So although they were real rome never showed what they were actually like or how they were writting, which a think they should of cse they were both still good friends so a dont get why they didnt base them on the book.
Have you no read simon scarrow yet think you wid enjoy them if you enjoy rome.

Alison57 weeks agoHi Craig,
You said there was no proof of soliders names recorded and that the characters like pullo and varenus might not be real. I did some reseach and this is what i found on Rome Wikipedia:
Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, two Roman soldiers mentioned historically in Caesar's Commentarii de Bello Gallico.
You can google this information and i think one of them took pompeys side and went on to join his legion against Ceaser.

Ceasers leagion was the 10th not the 13th that is right but about varenus and pullo they are fictional people.
Most names in the senete and higher standings are real but soldiers names were very rarely recorded so there is no proof of these soldiers really being there.
But there are stories wrote about soldiers which characters like pullo and varenus come from. it is the same for simon scarrows books when they say about the characters macro and cato.
