The RAIDERS OF THE FOURTH CHORD are here on the Island of Tenerife to rock the place.
NEXT GIGS:
NO MORE GIGS - BOO HOO
Big G and Scotty (Gordon Rossi & Pat-Rick Parfitt) decided to give the island of Tenerife something different to the usual "cabaret" acts etc etc. Anyhoo, we decided to put the STATUS QUO tribute, The RAIDERS OF THE FOURTH CHORD, together. We play live guitar and vocals to QUO backing tracks with no vocals or guitars on them. What we do is LIVE. It's going well. It's going very well in fact. The ONLY problem is finding venues large enough to handle our P.A. system and volume level!!!!!! Ain't a bad problem to have mind you!!!!

CHUDZIAK9/8/08Wahey, that was mighty good fun, ah know there was a bit of a 'moment' at the start, but hey, saved the gig, got an encore, and that was a mighty pleasurable feeling. Hmm, almost as good as sex....Well, better actually
Quite funny when you stood on your lead - then it was ma turn to look over at the rest of the band and go 'FFS guys' get it together' - lol, all ah could see was Scotty diving for the mixing desk and twiddling knobs like phuq, and you standing looking at your feet with a 'WTF' expression on yer face. Haha
Also, did you know ah cut ma frigging hand in the toilet door just before ah came on! See that, ah carried on playing with an injury to ma pinkie! Thats rock n roll for yeh!!!! Ahm still trying desperately to get ma stuff sorted out in Scotland, then ah'll be down there in the sun to help you blast out the Quo into the fuzzy ear drums of the OAPs in Tenerife. In the meantime, ahll keep on making yeh superb backing tracks....you just keep getting the gigs!!!!

THEY SAY THAT ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END......................
......................UNFORTUNATEL
Y, THIS IS THE CASE WITH THE 4TH CHORD. Due to family circumstances Mr GR has to head back to live in bonnie Scotland in the next week or so. I´m afraid that means an end to the good times had by myself and mr PRP.
Just want to say thanx to all that helped and to all the friends made on our tour. It´s been a blast.
As it happens, PRP will be staying and gigging under the name "Scott Wilson", playing live guitar and singing a good mix of modern and classic rock. If ure in tenerife, get along and see him.
anyhoo, thanx again and take care folks.

OUR TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO LAGUNA PARK 2 WAS.........................
.........................A TOTAL BELTER!!!!!!!!. Was great to be back there. As we've said before, it's a lovely big venue with a great stage and sound setup. Was a slightly different slant to the format on the night. We played for approx 30 mins and then had a 30 min break to allow the billy to get the BBQ down them and then we were back on for approx 45 mins. Worked oot really well actually. We were a bit apprehensive with the scenario of havin a break but hey - we had a crackin gig. Big thanx to all who attended and made a great atmosphere and thanx to the 4 bonnie lassies who took part in our "Air Guitar Competition" - which is basically them jumpin aboot the stage like numpties while we're playin Burnin Bridges. Good laff and enjoyed by all. The young Scottish lassie who won took home one of our now famous, and much sought after, mouse-mats. The other 3 girls all got a bottle of "chateau de shite" to take back to their hotel rooms. Great night and we're back every thursday.
SETLIST: Caroline, Down The Dustpipe, Paper Plane, The Wanderer, Don't Waste My Time, Livin On An Island, A Mess Of Blues (interval) Rockin All Over The World, Down Down, Burnin Bridges, In The Army Now, Whatever You Want, Anniversary Waltz Pt 1, Bye Bye Johnny.
Another brill nite at Joe's Bar in Silencio followed on the Saturday. Cant really say much more - i've said it all before. we always have a good night at Joes Bar - here's to many many more.
Right, rehearsals have been a bitlacking recently - not thru lack of want but one of us has a "day job" and we recently lost our usual rehearsal venue - short story is that we havent came up with any new songs to add to our setlist in a wee while. It will be sorted soon though - there's obviously a few more tracks we'd like to add but strugglin to find the time to make the BT's - so if anybody out there fancies a crack at makin a bass/drums backing track for us, please geis a shout. Mr Weeble has already promised us a drum track for Gerdundula - thanks to him for that. He's already done Backwater, Roll Over Lay Down and Dont Waste My Time for us - kudos.
Thats about it for the moment
Cheers again

OK OK OK, SO WE HAVEN'T BEEN.........................................................
..................................
..KEEPING THIS SITE UP TO DATE VERY OFTEN. SOME OF US have day jobs you know!!!!! (And some of us don't - lol). Anyhoo - how are you then, alrite??? few things to report on. 1st, the gig at Bar Bolle in Silencio. We were meant to have redio coverage etc etc. Turned up, great crowd, lovely owners of the new bar. Nice big bar - approx 100 billy, and the stage was setup outside playing into the bar/terrace. All started well with the usual Drione and into Caroline. Great, sounded good and we were up for a good gig until near the end of the song when the P.A. simply cut out. Mr PRP worked his magic for 60 secs and seemed to be sorted. We were off again with Down The Dustpipe and into Paper Plane when the same happened again - no P.A.!!!!!! Mr PRP once again worked his magic (kicking the on-site soundman oot the way - for now obvious reasons) and we were off with the Wanderer - wey hey - a song that was played all the way through with no hitches!!!!!! Think it was DWMT we were playin when the sound went again. By this time we were pissed off big time - played BBJ and left. Sorry to the folk that were there and were obviously up for a good time - the sound thing was simply oot our control. Shit happens, eh?? Lesson learned - use our own equipment for gigs like that!!!!!!
Anyhoo - had some more gigs at Joe's Bar in Silencio - big cheers again to Stevie and Kate who always make us feel so welcome - we're still there every 2nd Saturday and rockin the place!!!!! We're havin a bit of fun up there these days with Mr B joining us for a song or 2. PRP and myself are also in the middle of a side project as a Pink Floyd tribute and Mr B is kind enough to allow us to try a few Floyd songs up there while were doing the Quo set - we're only doing 3 or 4 songs up there to ensure we don't spoil the Quo set but they seem to be going down well. At the moment we're doing approx 90 min Quo set and 30 mins of Floyd and another track or 2 normally get flung in spur of the moment - think last week it was Proclaimers - 500 Miles and the Beatles - Saw Her Standing There (again sung by Mr B). The Quo sets have been good and loud and again we've had a few Quo fans in Joe's Bar in recent weeks. Broke my top e-string last week on the solo for Backwater - just went for one string bend too far!!!
Had a short set at Cosy Corner in Silencio last sunday for the War Heros charity. Great day - dunno how much was raised in the end, but it all helps, right??
Good news - we're back at Laguna Park 2 this Thursday - although they've shifted our time slot to 19:00. Would prefer it to be later 2bh, but hey, we'll rock the place as usual. Great to be back!!!!
Thats it for the mo - hasta pronto amigos
