Big G and Scotty (Gordon Rossi & Pat-Rick Parfitt) decided to give the island of Tenerife something different to the usual "cabaret" acts etc etc. Anyhoo, we decided to put the STATUS QUO tribute, The RAIDERS OF THE FOURTH CHORD, together. We play live guitar and vocals to QUO backing tracks with no vocals or guitars on them. What we do is LIVE. It's going well. It's going very well in fact. The ONLY problem is finding venues large enough to handle our P.A. system and volume level!!!!!! Ain't a bad problem to have mind you!!!!

.......BEST IMPRESSION OF A SCOTTISH ACCENT!!!!!!! Well, at least he tries. Spoze his Scottish accent is better than his haircut!!!!!!!! LOL Anyhoo, we'd a great night at Stevies last Sunday (JOE'S BAR, SILENCIO) and thought I'd give a few peeps a mencheee. 1stly, Stevie himself. As always a good host and good fun and the man got up and sang The Wanderer" for us. 2ndly, Kate for doin all the work in the bar!!!!!! (while Stevie ponces aboot). 3rdly, Stevies son Ricky - got up and played a song with PRP and done a bloody good job of it. Was Ricky's and Stevie's nephew Jack's 18th's. Happy Birthday guys. 4thly, Peter and Jill from somewhere near or in or around Birmingham - can't mmbr the specifics coz Kate had flung me a few pints by that time but cheers for comin along guys and dancin and singin etc etc. hope you had fun - looked like it!!!. Lastly, but by no means leastly, oor Leo - if ever you WANTED a heckler at a gig, it's him!!!!!!! lol.
Anyhoo, as I say, we'd a great night. we're back there tonight for our usual Saturday Night slot and well lookin forward to it!!!
Now then, the other side of the coin is that we've lost our Laguna Park II gig until the end of june. The resort was simply too quiet to justify paying us. Anyhoo - good news is that we met the promoter of the venue and all being well, we'll be back to our usual Thursday night slot in 2 weeks!!!! Here's hopin'.
Anyhoo - just a wee, quick blog this time. All thats left to say is "SKIMMINNIE-HIMMINNIE-HOOMINNIE" from me, & "SKIMMINNIE-HIMMINNIE-HOOMINNIE" from him!!!!!!!

PINKIE AND WEEBLE DECIDED...................................
..............................TO PUT IN AN APPEARANCE on the Island a couple of weeks ago. Weeble armed with a new "Backwater" backing track for us - cheers dood, quality effort as usual. We'll get round to rehearsing that one this week. He's also done us a new "punchier" BT for "Roll over lay down" - again, cheers dood.
Gigs have been going rather well - had a few nights at Laguna Park II in Fanabe (we're there every Thursday now) and they've been good. There's a couple more vidz of the night Pinkie and Weeble were there coming soon thanx to Jordie - aka Big J. Only doing 45 mins at Laguna Park so we never get a full set in - does mean though, that we can change the set completely from week to week. Billy has been good - at least 150 each night with last week topping the 200 mark in attendance!!!!
Also had a couple more nights at Joes Bar in Silencio. Couple of weeks ago was really funny due to the fact that there were only about 10 billy in the bar - and 4 of them were my relatives!!!! lol Last saturday at Joes Bar was a lot busier - not quite packed, but busy enough to make a good wee atmosphere.
Special mention to Stevie B from Joes bar who did a charity bash at coral mar square with us on Sunday. Played a few old r'n'r songs. Only rehearsed the songs once so we were really expecting a bit of a mish-mash but it all seemed to come together quite well in the end. Cheers Stevie - hopefully we'll do it again - was great fun. Think we'll call ourselves "the Fifth Wheel" - lol

COUPLE OF DEVELOPMENTS TO REPORT ON................
.............SO I'LL START WITH SOME GIG UPDATES.
EVERY THURSDAY AT LAGUNA PARK II, FANABE, 22:00 1-HOUR SET.
SATURDAY 28TH AT JOE'S BAR, SILENCIO, 22:00, 2-HR SET.
We got a last minute call to do a "filler" at Laguna Park II on Thursday. Nice holiday resort with a HUGE stage, excellent stage lighting, smoke machines, big screen video of stage etc etc. We had a great gig, done a 50-min set of hits and they've asked us back for the next 3 Thursday's with an option to make permenant!!! wey-hey, RESULT!!!!!!!!! Gig was good. As I said, the venue is well kitted out - even have our own on-site soundman for this gig - lol. Superstar Status, eh??
Had a couple of enthuastic lunatics on stage with us doing air-guitar for rockin all over the world!!! Quality - they each won a bottle of wine (chateau de shite) and one of our now famous and much clamoured over, mouse-mats!!!!!! good sports both of them - cheers to the Irish lassie and the chap with the inflatable guitar - neither of which I can remember the names - sorry. Good billy in - bout 150 - and a good cross-section of nationalities. we had German, Estonian, Irish (north and south), English, Latvian, Scottish, Spanish and Russian - all in about equal numbers!!!! Great stuff - cannae wait to get back there again - next Thursday.
Joes bar last Saturday was fun. It was the first outing for Rain, Burnin Bridges and Jam Side Down - all seemed to go down really well although my singing was admittedly a bit "ropey" on the high parts of rain - PRP going to take over the singing for that song. Anyhoo - all I can say is that we had a fuqin great night there - as usual. Our hosts - Stevie B and Katy - as always made us feel so welcome. Cheers guys - was a pleasure again. Lookin forward to doing that show next saturday again.

Quite funny when you stood on your lead - then it was ma turn to look over at the rest of the band and go 'FFS guys' get it together' - lol, all ah could see was Scotty diving for the mixing desk and twiddling knobs like phuq, and you standing looking at your feet with a 'WTF' expression on yer face. Haha
Also, did you know ah cut ma frigging hand in the toilet door just before ah came on! See that, ah carried on playing with an injury to ma pinkie! Thats rock n roll for yeh!!!!
Ahm still trying desperately to get ma stuff sorted out in Scotland, then ah'll be down there in the sun to help you blast out the Quo into the fuzzy ear drums of the OAPs in Tenerife.
In the meantime, ahll keep on making yeh superb backing tracks....you just keep getting the gigs!!!!

ALRIGHTY MATEY! Long time no speak. Took me a while to work out it was u lol. So hows trix over by? You still in amongst the tennis courts? Hows Amanda, Billie and J doin? I'm still in Paisley. I bought Grahams flat off him last September and still trying to make my mark on it (cause I'm a lazy cunt) o i I'm still working for T Mobile getiing regularly shafted by the directors - I did get a compo payout last year though.
