Larch Hill 11th - 13th August 2009!.....Ruth, Aisling, Laura, Grainne, Des, Shane, Niall, Cathal, Alan, Colm.....<<< Boats and Hoes! !


Tuesday:

We met up at the community centre on Tuesday evening and when everyone was there we left for Larch HIll. When we arrived there was no one in Larch Hill at all! !...Lukily the warden guy forgot his phone so he came back up to Larch Hill! He told us we were staying in the wooden gate field so we unloaded al the gear and started putting up are tents. That night we had a fire up in another field and then we went back and sat around the table and just talked. Everyone went to bed around 2....


'The length of the tent is a tent of the length of the pitch! (pole..Laura!) !'


Wednesday:

We got up around 9 and had breakfast. After breakfast we started doing pioneering. We made a alter fire and a swing!!....and Des put a handprint of muck on Ruths leg! ! Then Derek randomly came to visit us! ! We had are lunch around 1 and then we were going to do backwoods cooking but just left it because no1 was hungry after lunch! so we all just did what we wanted....like go to the playground! =] We started the fire for dinner and let it go down to the embers and then put are dinner in it. We had pizza! Well kinda.. ....pizza in a roll! and then smores!! There was Explorer Scouts from Nottingham staying in Larch Hill aswell so we told them we were going to have a campfire that night and for them to come. We set up the campfire and around 9-ish we started it! There was the 10 of us and then 11 from Nottingham! Ruth and Aisling lead the campfire and then the explorer scouts did some of their songs aswell! 'I went to rob a bank rob a bank... !' After the campfire everyone was just talking and all roasting marshmallows with the English scouts. Then we all went on a walk down by the river but then realised there was no where to go! !.....' Whers Shane??....Who cares about Shane??...NO not your Shane are Shane! Oooo.... !' So some of us went to the crows nest and then we brought the English scouts to the trianlge field to show them all the lights of Dublin at night! and the others went back to the English campsite! After that we went to the playground and we were all just talking and whatever! 'Shit its the warden RUN!.....fuck we left the lantern in the tree! ! '....so we all ran and then realised it was just Des! !...The english people had to go back to their campsite then so we went back to ours and sat around the table talking and eating! !....eventually everyone went to bed....!



'Awkward turtle... ....Des Catherine!....OMG!!..look at that massive snail with no shell!!....Ruth its a slug! ! '


Thursday:

We got up around 10 and had breakfast.....we started taking everything down and cleaning up! We wanted to say by to the English scouts but they were going to town and the zoo and they went early so we didnt get to say by! ! When everything was takin down we tried to finish all the food! !...and then we wrote are letter to the english! ! We gave them all are MSN's and left it in their mess tent!....Ruth and Aisling put their letter 4 Robert Rosie and Aidan in their tent under a shoe! ! Then Ken arrived and it was basically time to go....so we waited for are parents and packed up the trailer and left! !


And the moral of the story is....dont wear jeans on camp! !
