Today, my kind director of the famous play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', by the well-known poet, William Shakespeare, appointed me specially to go to stage in the renowned play, as no other than Oberon!!! At first, I couldn't believe it as I was not experienced as an actor. I'd exclaimed, "Me?! What?! Are you joking me?! You're appointing me, ME!!!" But then, the director, seeing me overreacting, smiled, more like smirked, at me and calmly said that he wasn't joking, I was in it for real. After that, I was convinced and was extremely excited as it was my first time ever being in an actual play and also acting in it too! And this particular play was set in Athens. Oberon is the fairy king, who is married to Titania and is clever and has great ideas, but not always fair to everyone. He has a strong sense of what he wants and has great sympathy of people that he sees and never actually known before. I was pleased that I had this part so I practised my lines as well as I could until I could get it right.

Oberon has a large train of fairy servants who are always ready to do his bidding. The one and only, most mischieveous and somewhat loyal one is Robin Goodfellow, also known as Puck. Puck is a good fairy but always makes mistakes, and I can't blame him (and I think nor could Oberon). I think that Oberon should wear rich, fine clothing probably made of delicate silk that may be made into an Athenian's costume, namely a toga. He most likely wears a golden shimmering crown, filled with his powerful magic, symbolising that he is a king. He might wear lightweight Cupid-like golden slippers and a long, smooth, silver, shimmering cape. He probably has lots of charisma as well as looks. He perhaps would hold a staff or maybe even a magic wand...I think with him, anything is possible for both his costume, looks, power, and way more. (But I think he'll look like a handsome king with glowing wings.)

He is a lot like me as he has great determination and works hard toward his dream, exactly similar to me. He also never gives up, in that way, he is really strong...Maybe that's why Mr. Director chose me...hmmm...I wonder. But he is also not like me as he easily gets grumpy.

He may even fly with or without glowing wings, or be able to run really fast (*grin* a great deal like me ), but I absolutely am certain that he is able to become invisible at his very wish. Although I believe he can be really fast, although I think that he does like being slow because every single time he moves, argues and states statements, it sounds like he is pretty slow... but that might not be entirely true.

But before that, when Titania falls in love with and dotes on that vile thing or animal or mortal or whatever (his name is Bottom anyway), he quarrels with her angrily, about letting her take the page boy who is under Titania's care unto the promise she made to take care of him for her, influencing both the mortal's weather and the lovers. He is exceedingly cunning and suspiciously mysterious as his interesting ideas are bizarre and also creative to think up such great ideas...but also weird ideas.

To me, I truly believe that Oberon is a really nice and pleasant character who always was optimistic, and that I was really delighted to play his role as a fabulous character!!!

I even made a poem about him:
I am cunning, I am smart,
I will even cure your heart,
That may be broken due to love sickness,
Oh how, mortals are so useless!

I'll help you, oh I will!
I'll do it even with out a bill,
I have sympathy just for you,
And make you wonder, 'Just who?'
