you know you grew up in the musselburgh area if :-
- you spent countless hours of your summer goin Pier Plunging.
- when the tide was out you walked through the slop in the harbour.
- you remember when the firemans brae was right next to the police station.
- the old people got the 15 back up to Stoneybank after goin shoppin.
- you remember that Somerfield was called Gateway, Fine Fare & Coopers before it finally closed last year.
- Worcester Sauce crisps & a VHS rental from Azad Video was a treat.
- you ran from school to Greggs @ lunchtime for the drink sausage roll & doughnut for £1.
- if you got bored of Greggs, the caprice did half pizzas for 70p.
- you got your feet measured in the slidy panel machine in Clarks.
- if you could skim a stone across the Esk from the mini beach in Goosegreen you were a legend.
- running across the field in seagull mating season was considered dangerous.
- swan island was a forbidden place in case a swan broke your back with its wing.
- the only way to get to the fort was the C3 bus.
- you called it Craig Park even though it had a sign saying Kinnaird Park at the entrance.
- Woolies was where you bought all your Transformers.
- when you found out the lolllipop mans name was Peter Blue, you whistled the theme tune everytime you saw him.
- when the bridge christian centre youth club was full of neds, the organisers didnt think it was strange.
- youth club meant saturday nights @ Oscars.
- the bird cages in Lewisvale Park were right next to the path.
- once you learned how to bronco the swings, the next task was a multi.
- the tarzy swing up the grove was one of the most amazing things ever(who put it up & how the hell did they get up there??)
- attatching yourself to the bridge when the 125 went past wasn't dangerous-it was a rush!
- the two for one on old style sweets @ the dairy was a must @ lunchtime.
- learning how to climb up on the school roof was amazing once you mastered it.
