- So its about time i updated my BEBO, saying I lost my password for two months did me no help! Back from a years voluntary work in China. Shall be doing the Uni thing soon enough. Lately I'm sick of saying goodbye to close friends, amazing places and wonderful memories. However that's life and I will survive learning all I can and doing the best I can. Life is not a set plan onkly dreams to work towards, friends to make and following your own mortal compass as far a you can. I wanna wake up happy, smile because I can and enjoy the joys of life!

Ok so this is a pretty big subject to cover, to be more precise, my view of China, i guess. So I’ve been her... three months pretty much and already I’ve done more than I've ever expected and regretted half as much as I thought I would. To begin? Beijing. Arriving in China was a challenge itself, let alone getting into the capital and everything being so smogged up that I couldn’t see anything. The hostel was awesome, with its rickety and hazardous toilets and roof terrace that would play home to our night adventures. The heat, it hit you like a solid wall and once you feel that stickiness, you wanna shower everyday! Our first meal and the obstacle of chopsticks. Wondering the back streets, you know it’s China when you can find a supermarket down a dirt track, or count people in the dark because of the glow of cigarettes. The Great wall, the next challenge. Sure bus rides can fly when you sing aloud with your iPod but not a good move when you’ve 20 other volunteers who have to listen to your tine deaf voice in a hot enclosed coach for a long time. The walk up the Wall, well worth it and also may kill, but half way up, between bartering for water under 7 Yuan and catching your breath, you are rewarded with the best views that simply knock what ever wind you had managed to regain out of you. Hey doll, not planning to return to facebookland anytime soon sorry! I should be back in aber by the 24th for internationals wk. As for hints and tips all i can say is dont panic! Id say dont bother with too much kitcheny stuff we hav Matalan and a cheap hardware store plus its a bitch getting it over there. Once u get there dont stress too much about introductory lectures t only one you absolutely hav to go to is the fire safety one and dont worry about getting on with flatmates or not loads of ppl dont. How are you travelling over? Oh theses an interpol lecturer from portglenone u should find her Shes lovely! Beware i will kidnap u for coffee regularly and u can bombard me with questions/woes/drunken stories
